After a whopping eight years (EIGHT YEARS!!) the Real Housewives of Miami are back. RHOM mysteriously went off the air after season three in 2013. Andy Cohen implied the drop off was a result of Mama Elsa’s tragic death as well as a ratings decline. Thank god it’s reboot szn! It’s been a treat to catch up with many of our leading ladies again. Do yourself a favor and get over to Peacock for this goodness.
Season four of Real Housewives of Miami features some familiar, and not so familiar, faces. We are being welcomed to the lives of Lisa Hochstein, Larsa Pippen, and Alexia Echevarria. Marysol Patton and Adriana de Moura are coming back as friends-of, too! Unfortunately, it looks like Lea Black is choosing to stay home in her new life out towards LA.
In an interview for Entertainment Tonight Alexia shared her thoughts on the casting for season four. Alexia doesn’t seem to think Lea’s location change has anything to do with her being dis-invited from filming. Alexia shared, “Lea [not returning] didn’t surprise me.”
“I feel like everybody has a time period — and she was a big part of the show in seasons one through three — but eight years have happened, and what really keeps the show going are the women’s relationships,” Alexia explained.
I happen to agree with this type of thinking. There is always a major difference between the franchises where the women have actual connections to one another (think Real Housewives of Potomac) vs. a political alliance to a person who is hardly a real friend (think Real Housewives of Beverly Hills).

Alexia continued, “Honestly? [Lea] doesn’t have a relationship with any of us. It would’ve been weird if they would’ve brought her because she really doesn’t have a relationship with any of us. And I feel that that’s such a key factor in this kind of show.” Apparently, Lea just didn’t pass the season four vibe check.
Alexia added, “At the end– you can have a disagreement, you can have your opinion, you can fight about it, but at the end it has to be that bond.”

TELL US – DO YOU THINK IT’S IMPORTANT FOR HOUSEWIVES TO BE CONNECTED BY A BOND OUTSIDE OF THE SHOW ITSELF? ARE YOU SAD THAT LEA IS MISSING FROM SEASON 4 OF RHOM?
