Back in the early days of Real Housewives of Atlanta, Peter Thomas was in the middle of a lot of drama. We first met Peter when he married Cynthia Bailey during her first season on the show — remember that trainwreck of a wedding? Peter is outspoken and loves to stir the pot. He had a playfully flirty relationship with NeNe Leakes, 50 Cynt’s one-time best friend, and they still seem close to this day. He also wasn’t afraid to stand up for his lady, even if it meant getting into a heated argument with her co-stars or their men at the time. He was essentially a bonafide housewife.
But Peter was unfortunately not Cynthia’s happily ever after. She found that with her current husband, Mike Hill. The pair are Teresa Giudice levels in love love love, and I’m happy for her. 50 Cynt also ended her historic run on RHOA after last season. Looking back at her career on the show, both she and Peter were pretty central to the overall plot.
However, when there are Real Housewives with entrepreneurial husbands, financial problems are usually not far behind. Peter and Cynthia had money problems since their wedding, which they could barely pay for. Peter’s been caught up in a few lawsuits and such in the past, including recently when Cynthia sued her ex for unpaid funds. That case was dropped, but it looks like Peter has found himself in another issue involving a less-than-successful business venture. I’m having deja vu.

Radar Online reports that Peter was hit with a federal tax lien a few months ago for money owed relating to his defunct establishment Uptown Restaurant & Lounge. Remember all the headaches that place caused 50 Cynt back in the day? The restaurant hasn’t been open since 2010, but the lien wasn’t filed until over a decade later.
Peter is being accused of failing to pay taxes on the business from December 2008 to December 2009. The 10 payments owed allegedly add up to more than $450,000. That doesn’t sound like a plain old small filing mistake. The report also says that the IRS can begin seizing his assets if he doesn’t immediately pay off the debt. The lien was initially filed last summer and has seemingly not been paid.
