The Real Housewives of Orange County Jen Armstrong, Emily Simpson, Shannon Storms Beador, Heather Dubrow, Gina Kirschenheiter, Noella Bergener

Real Housewives Of Orange County Mid-Season Trailer Is Here!

I had high hopes for Real Housewives of Orange County this season. As I’ve noted before, so far, I’m unimpressed. Can Heather Dubrow save the franchise like we were banking on? I don’t know. But at least the new mid-season trailer promises more than what we’ve been getting. People recently featured the minute and a half long tease and here’s what we have to look forward to!

It looks like are hitting the road to idyllic and quiet Aspen, CO. But the quiet won’t last long considering we have a (faux?) fur-clad Emily Simpson yelling at someone, “I’m talking. Shut the f*** up.” Ok, then. Off to a great start! I’m assuming Emily has found her way into more than a few arguments. But she’s also busy supporting husband Shane Simpson, who finally gets sworn in a an attorney. Did you guys hear? He passed the bar. The man finally passed the bar. Unfortunately for him, now he has to go home and spend time with his family.

As for other marriages that don’t seem to happy, we have newbie Jen Armstrong and husband, Ryan Holliday. Or Ryne, depending on who you ask. But his self imposed first name change is the least of their concerns apparently. At a dinner out with what appears to be the rest of the cast, Jen demands more affection. She tells Ryne, “Can you kiss me on the lips? Like we’re married?” The next scene features her saying, “Ryan packed his bags and left last night.” She is then seen crying and adds, “I don’t know, I guess I’m just tired of being in this relationship.” You know who else is tired? The California court system after seeing all the lawsuits that Jen has going for her. When are we going to talk about that?

And next up is yet another marriage in trouble. If we can even call it a marriage anymore? Other newbie and accused thirsty girl, Noella Bergener is coming apart at the seams. Maybe it’s the stress of her first season. Or her husband serving her with divorce papers accompanied by flowers. Or maybe it’s her futile attempt to go up against Heather. Either way, it looks like she has some kind of screaming fit by a body of water. Later, she is carted off with some kind of medical emergency. Of course, we hope she is ok.

As for Shannon Beador, she’s fighting for her life to maintain any friend on the show that isn’t Noella. She tells Jen and Heather, “There are people in this group I will never be best friends with.” To which we all say, “duh.” But it looks like she might be referring to Gina Kirschenheiter, who she’s had beef with ever since she kicked the season off by telling her that Heather is friends with a sue-happy liar-face named Nicole James. Shannon adds of Gina,”Gina’s ego? Sorry, needs to put a little pin in it.”  We later see Shannon screaming, “I own my sh**, she owns f***ing nothing.” Cue the Shannon robot hands. I don’t know if she’s talking about Gina or Heather or any one of the other housewives on the show that doesn’t like her, but I’m excited to find out.

But this season Gina is like no other. She’s dumped her dead weight of an ex, found new love and come into her own as a housewife. And that means loving herself. At the vert least, liking herself, which she tells bestie Emily. In fact, I think she’s ready to take on anyone. Gina later accosts and tells a bear statue on a sidewalk, “Stop being mean to me. Stop telling me I’m arrogant.” Ok, I don’t know that the bear did to her, but I am loving this newly empowered Gina.

For her part, Heather is really sticking to the plan of being an insufferable bully this season. Ok, ok, to be fair, she is going after Shannon and Noella. Who are two of the least likable housewives right now. And who have done her the dirtiest this season. I use the term “dirty” loosely because I don’t consider Noella’s feeble attempts at coming for Heather dirty. In the game of housewives, Noella actually looks squeaky clean with her attacks. But Heather doesn’t care because she has someone else to practice yelling at. While she tells Gina that she made up with Shannon but that she still doesn’t trust her, she reserves all her fury for Noella. Reliving the days when she told Shannon “we’re done, please leave,” Heather goes full force on Noella and tells her, “You are a liar and a thirsty girl, and I’m done.”

Whew, that was a ride. And I didn’t even get into Archie’s big cameo of cannonballing into the pool. Uncertain if this is before or after he allegedly ran away  got lost, but either way, I’m sure happy he’s back.
