Back in the saddle might be an expression Lisa Vanderpump won’t be using. It was recently reported that she broke her leg falling off a horse, and the update on her condition is not good. The Vanderpump Rules star was horseback riding at The Paddock in Los Angeles when the horse got spooked and bucked her off. Witnesses say she went forward over the horse’s head and landed on her back, which she also sustained injury to. Lisa was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance after a trainer saw what happened and immediately called for help.
Husband Ken Todd was there when it happened and isn’t optimistic that Lisa will ride again. He told Page Six, “I think maybe that was her last ride. I wouldn’t let her ride again.” Ken made sure to note that the horse who threw her off was “gentle,” “perfect” and “amazing.” Lisa had allegedly been riding him for 6 years and Ken added that even the best riders can’t predict when a horse will get scared. Which of course, is true.
Ken continued, “I was there. When I saw her thrown off, I couldn’t believe it. I was in shock. I ran over there, and she was just on the floor, and she knew that she’d broken her leg straightaway.” Poor Ken. This must have been terrible for him to watch and be completely helpless.

Ken revealed that Lisa ended up breaking her leg in three places. She will have to undergo surgery and likely need plates and screws to fix the breaks. He estimated that her recovery time would be eight to ten weeks. Ken also said she will go through a rigorous physical therapy process, along with other healing methods.
Lisa, who owns two mini horses on her Villa Rosa residence, has always been known as an animal lover. In a confessional during an episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, where she spent nine seasons, she talked about how much she loved riding. She even admitted to trying to make it to the horse stables three times a week.
We wish Lisa a smooth and speedy recovery!
