There’s a war brewing in Salt Lake City as Lisa Barlow and Meredith Marks’ picture-perfect friendship crumbles right before our eyes. When The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City first premiered, their friendship seemed unshakeable, but the cracks started to show by the end of the season 1 reunion. Throughout season 2, there’s been an underlying tension between the two, but still, no one could have predicted that their decade-long friendship would spiral into a sudden tailspin like this.
After Lisa’s hot mic moment aired, where she claimed that Meredith slept with half of New York, the two ladies have followed in the footsteps of the great Housewives that came before them, and they’re shading each other on social media.
In screenshots captured by allabouttrh, we see Lisa in her Instagram Stories with a cryptic message saying, “Never put the key to your happiness in somebody else’s pocket.”
Meanwhile, over on Meredith’s IG Stories, the ice queen wrote, “Watch out for the “friend” who stabs you in the back and then cries that she is bleeding.”

This has Lisa Barlow written all over it. And then, the shade continued the next day when Meredith posted a “thought of the day” to her Instagram Story. It read, “When someone throws shade, judgement or lies on you, it is actually a representation of their own insecurities or a projection of their own wrong doing. It is not relevant to you or your character.”
Since the hot mic episode aired, Meredith has been pretty consistent that Lisa’s disparaging rant was just a classic case of projection. But back over on Lisa’s Instagram, she posted a story that simply stated, “I’m writing my own story. Write your own.”
This season, there has already been so much drama on RHOSLC, from arrests to religious trauma. Now, with these two former best friends feuding, it’s safe to say that the season 2 reunion is going to be bonkers. As production gears up for season 3, Meredith has already said that she’s contemplating disengaging from the show altogether because her co-stars “enjoy spreading lies about her.” So, will she even come back to face Lisa head-on? Let’s hope so.
