In case you haven’t noticed, Chrishell Stause wrote a book. Perhaps you’ve been as wrapped up in the as yet to be seen on the screen dating/not dating saga between Selling Sunset star Chrishell and her boss, Jason Oppenheim, as I have. But she did. And it’s out.
The stealth tactics they used to hide their relationship were easily distracting. Which was actually a smart move considering Jason and Mary Fitzgerald co-parent their dogs together. I think that’s nice. Especially considering Jason’s not interested in having any human children. That’s got to bug Chrishell just a little bit, right?
The drama between Christine Quinn and, well everyone, has also taken center stage in the off-season. You know if girlfriend wasn’t even invited to Heather Rae Young‘s wedding to Tarek El Moussa things have to be bad. That’s all Heather could talk about in Season 4.
But seriously friends, we need to turn our attention away from the Selling Sunset drama. Just for a moment. Long enough to peruse what Chrishell is dishing in her book, Under Construction: Because Living My Best Life Took A Little Work. Then we can go right back to judging everyone else on the show, per usual.
According to People one of the juiciest tidbits shared is that Chrishell‘s ex-husband Justin Hartley neglected to reach out when her mother passed away. Heartless. Was she really surprised though? Anyone who notifies you they are filing for divorce through a text message, has obviously emotionally detached from you.

Chrishell‘s sister evidently expected more, asking if he had bothered to pass on any words of condolences. Chrishell wrote that, “I told her that he hadn’t, and that I wasn’t really expecting him to, but that it was okay because mom never liked [him] anyway.” Oh good. At least she didn’t have any unrealistic expectations.
Plus, considering Chrishell‘s mom only called Justin, Jacob, it sounds like she wasn’t expecting it either. That’s some low-key shade right there. While Chrishell wasn’t “sure if she did it on purpose or as a dig,” it’s still amusing.
Chrishell went on to say that “the funny thing is my mom never even liked Justin,” adding, “She’d never seen any of his shows, and she’d only watched a few episodes of Selling Sunset, so she just lived in a different world and was not won over by someone’s celebrity. At the end of the day, she just cared about how someone treated her daughter.” As you do.
