I think we all know by now the saga between Abhishek “Shake” Chatterjee and Deepti Vempati. The former Love Is Blind couple became the biggest storyline of the season. Fans found themselves cheering for the lovable Deepti after she was subjected to Shake’s insensitivity. Both on and off the show.
Now it looks like Shake is finally accepting that he needs to apologize for his actions. As reported by Us Weekly, Shake took to his Instagram to express his remorse in a video message. The caption explained that he was “ready to take accountability for [his] actions and be better.” In the video, he stated, “I wanted to take this opportunity to really just say sorry to a woman that I know I hurt. Deepti, I am truly sorry for some of the things I said.” He went on, “Things that, honestly, just could’ve been left unsaid or could have been said differently. Things that never should have been on national television.”
Despite speaking poorly of her during filming, Shake claims that Deepti was his “best friend” while they were filming the show. Shake said, “Even though I knew our relationship wasn’t going to end in marriage, I didn’t want what we had to end either. I loved every second of it.”
He added, “I think it’s also important I apologize publicly for the sake of your family and friends that I’ve upset as well.” Shake then noted that he had already “reached out privately” to Deepti. He concluded his video and said, “I’m so, so sorry that I hurt you with my words. That’s the last thing that I wanted from all of this. I’m sorry, Deepti.”

This is a stark contrast from Shake’s words just a few days ago, where he again used Instagram to share his feelings. In a video posted to his stories, he previously said, “One thing I don’t feel inclined to do is pretend I’m sad or sorry about certain things — certain things that were out of my control, certain things that I can’t necessarily even speak about.” He added, “I’m just not going to do that. I’m not sorry.”
Shake also played himself at the reunion, where he was defiant and downright rude towards his castmates. He even scoffed at the premise of the show. Said Shake, “I wanted to be partially blind. I wanted [it] to be ‘Love Is Blurry.’ We all have our physical preferences. Listen, every woman in here is beautiful. I think you’re all beautiful. I’m not attracted to all of you. Unfortunately, the only one I’m attracted to is Vanessa [Lachey] — and I wish I wasn’t! I wish I wasn’t. The point is, it’s not a choice.” Ugh, gross.

As for Deepti, it looks like she has already moved on. In a Tik Tok posted by castmate Kyle Abrams, they teased a possible relationship. He even said at the reunion, “Biggest regret is I should have asked Deepti to marry me.” The video has over 15 million views.
