I didn’t expect watching Real Housewives of Orange County Season 16 that I would grow to like Emily Simpson so much. Emily and Gina Kirschenheiter are a relatable duo that can have fun and cause drama without stooping to Kelly Dodd levels of desperation.
You also have to appreciate how Emily breaks the Orange County mold in a way Noella Bergener wishes she could. I’ll probably never stop dunking on Shane Simpson here and there because it’s just too easy. However, Emily is having a moment right now, and it’s much appreciated.
Emily appeared on Watch What Happens Live recently to talk all things RHOC. She was joined by Saturday Night Live star Aidy Bryant and, as most conversations do these days, the duo got on the topic of the Kardashians. No, they didn’t go into the Pete Davidson/Kim Kardashian of it all. But they did gush about their love for the family and one super-famous sister in particular, according to E! Online.
Aidy spoke about doing an SNL sketch with the family when Kim hosted the show a few months back. It was nerve-wracking, but overall a good experience. “I loved the Kardashians. They were so kind, open, totally down to be made fun of, in on it, and having a ball,” she gushed.

Emily couldn’t sit by idly and took a moment to gush about her obsession with Khloe Kardashian. Aidy one-upped her by revealing that Khlo$ actually sent her some Good American jeans after her appearance on SNL. However, Aidy did say she’d help Emily try to secure herself a few pairs of jeans from Khloe now that they are buddies.
Khloe gets a bad rep these days and I fully blame Tristan Thompson. She’s been unlucky in love, but always stays positive and tries to have fun. It’ll be interesting to see how her journey of being a single mom will play out on Keeping Up With The Kardashians 2.0 on Hulu. But for now, she seems to be enjoying the new and improved RHOC like the rest of us.
WWHL posted a clip of the Kardashian-centric convo on Instagram, and Khloe actually responded. “Awwwwww this is so so sweet,” Khloe wrote. “@rhoc_emilysimpson I am sending you @goodamerican beautiful lady!!!!” She added that she loved both of the women, and gave Andy Cohen a specific shout-out. “Of course, my Andy is supreme,” she said. You gotta love these two major reality TV universes colliding.
