Woohoo or womp womp? Vicki Gunvalson knew it was coming. But it had to hurt nonetheless. The former Real Housewives of Orange County star was blindsided when former fiance Steve Lodge got engaged. Less than 3 months after they broke up, mind you. The new lady in Steve’s life is elementary school teacher Janis Carlson. And the two allegedly started dating the same month that Vicki and Steve formally broke up.
Like their engagement, Steve and Janis wasted no time getting hitched. Steve announced their nuptials on his Instagram, featuring a photo of them in their wedding attire. Steve captioned the snap, “Perfect weather, spectacular view, wonderful guests, memorable ceremony, sensational food and plenty of wine; And of course my beautiful wife. All made for an incredible wedding.”
Naturally, people wanted to hear what Vicki had to say about it. As reported by Page Six, Vicki took two days to tweet out her response. She wrote, “People have been asking me to make a statement about my x-fiancé’s [sic] recent marriage.” Vicki revealed, “Here it is…I wish them the best. I’m just so thrilled and RELIEVED it wasn’t me at the altar with him.” Amen to that!

The news of Steve’s marriage comes just seven months after his split with Vicki. While they made it seem amicable at the time, once word got out that Steve had suspiciously moved on a little too quickly, things went downhill from there. Vicki accused Steve of cheating and continuing to sleep in her bed, even after they broke up. She previously confessed, “I will give him the credit for stating we broke up. But when you break up with somebody, you don’t continue to sleep in their bed and you don’t continue to live with them. So, that was my bad that I didn’t take it at face value because I didn’t want to break up.”
Vicki also added of the failed politician, “That’s the facts. If he states he didn’t cheat on me, then why did you continue to live with me? That’s my question to him. Why did you lead me to believe we were going to be OK? Because I was in it for life.” Sadly, it sounds like Steve didn’t bother to move on from Vicki until he secured someone else.

Regardless, Vicki is assuring fans that she has moved on to greener pastures. In February, she announced that she has a new boyfriend. Describing the mystery man as “incredible,” she gushed, “I am so excited. He is the first man that has ever really treated me to anything. He is like, ‘I got that, you’re not paying for that.’ I am like, ‘Are you real?’” Geez, the bar sounds low. And now I am dying to know what Steve made Vicki pay for while they dated.
Vicki concluded of her new man, “I manifested him. He has everything [on the list] but one [thing]. Including wearing cowboy boots and loving country-western music. He doesn’t have a boat. My heart’s full and it’s happy. That is how it is in the beginning anyways. My tank is full!”
