Kathy Hilton hasn’t even made her appearance on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills yet. But from all the rumors coming from this season, it sounds like Kathy is going to be the center of plenty of drama. Will she lose her status as a fan favorite?
Now Kathy, who is usually lost on social media, is throwing some shade of her own on Instagram. As reported by Page Six, she recently shared a cryptic message to her IG stories. The graphic read, “When the chips are down, a person who genuinely cares for you wants to be there for you because you need it. A narcissist however, will only be there for you because they need it. To feed on the drama. To promote their fake persona of ‘being that great person who is always there for others,’ with no follow through. To build your debt of obligation to them.”
The quote concluded, “In none of these scenarios are your needs involved. You are an opportunity to be capitalized on. Your misfortune, is their fortune.” The post came from an account called Understanding The Narc, which made the post on May 26th. A quick look at Kathy’s Instagram shows that she follows the account.
Given the cast of characters on RHOBH, Kathy could be talking about anyone. She’s repeatedly gotten into it with Lisa Rinna, who looks like she’s inserting herself into drama with Kathy and sister Kyle Richards. Rinna tells Kathy in the season 12 trailer, “You said some things about this beautiful sister of yours. I’m sorry, Kathy, you’re not gonna get away with it.” Rinna also slammed Kathy on her Instagram for not attending the season finale party.
In addition, Kathy is facing accusations that she used a slur while filming, first by Erika Jayne and then by (of course) Rinna. Alleged leaked DMs from Rinna read, “Here’s the thing if you’re gonna be on a reality show honey and you’re a homophobic racist you probably should’ve stayed home. When it all starts coming out do some googling and see where those words have been thrown around before.” The slur in question was supposedly made to Sutton Stracke’s assistant. Sutton has outright denied that Kathy did any such thing.
Then there is the issue of Kyle. The sisters, who spent years not talking before reconciling, have started to feud again this season. Kyle recently explained of their relationship, “It’s so complicated and complex. The fact that we’re on television complicates things.” Keep in mind, Kyle has openly admitted to convincing Kathy to join the show.
Finally, the first set of rumors to come out of this season involved a drama filled trip to Aspen. Kathy allegedly went off the rails after a spat with an employee at the exclusive Caribou Club. Kathy’s rep immediately denied the claims. But something did happen, as evidenced by Kathy’s plea to her husband on social media. She wrote in the comments of his Instagram, “Please call me I need to get out of here now!!!!!”
After the post about narcissists, Kathy made another shady post. She used a popular photo of Kermit the Frog sipping Lipton tea. The meme is best used for those who are watching the drama or ready to spill some tea. Sounds like the latter for Kathy. She has since deleted the post.
