Back in April, it was reported that Ms. Juicy was in the ICU for an undisclosed condition. Her agency shared the news of the Little Women: Atlanta star’s hospital stay on her Instagram account. Fans filled the comments with support and now, Ms. Juicy has finally gone home.
As reported by Page Six, Ms. Juicy, whose real name is Shirlene Pearson, posted her update on Instagram. She shared in a video, “I am not at 100%, but I am still healing.” She then explained what happened and confirmed she suffered a stroke. Juicy added, “I want to say thank you for all of the love and support … and I appreciate y’all being concerned.”
She went on to specify that her stroke was an “entailed a brain bleed,” which “can cause different things for different people.” Ms. Juicy noted how it can take a toll on basic motor function and cognitive abilities. She explained, “I had to learn how to walk, learn how to talk, learn how to eat, learn how to swallow. I can’t even really say ‘Ms. Juicy Baby’ the way I usually say it.” She then noted she was receiving speech therapy services to help get her back to where she used to be.
A grateful Juicy then addressed all the support she received while sick. She shared, “A lot of people reminded me I’m a fighter. I appreciate it.” Her family also stepped up to help once she was released from the hospital. Juicy remarked, “My mom and my sister, both, they stopped their everyday lives to come here and help me out, so I can get better and tend to my everyday life. So again, I want to thank y’all, but I also want to thank them too.”
Sadly, her stroke has rendered her unable to work. Juicy continued, “I haven’t been able to work. So there’s no money coming in.” Her sister has set up a GoFundMe to help cover her medical costs. Ms. Juicy concluded, “As you can see, I’m not dead. I’m right here. It might have slowed me down, but I’m here, and I’ll be back at 100% when the time is right. But I can’t push it and I can’t rush it. This right here, this is not me. I can’t stay this way too long y’all. So keep praying. We’ll be back real soon. Love you and thank you.”
