Kelly Dodd doesn’t just fight with her former costars and anyone who will cross her path on social media. In her latest blow up, the former Real Housewives of Orange County star is battling family. After husband Rick Leventhal wasn’t invited to his daughter’s wedding, Kelly freaked on social media. And she caused quite the stir. Kelly called Rick’s daughter, Veronica Leventhal, “evil” and a “spoiled brat.”
While Veronica previously embraced Kelly as her new stepmom, things soured after Kelly’s last RHOC reunion. Veronica said publicly, “I don’t think that you can claim ownership on a culture or a nationality and then disallow privileges to those people, either through certain political perspectives or just subjugating them in other ways.” Things went downhill from there.
As reported by Page Six, Rick responded to a fan on social media who asked why he wasn’t at the wedding. He wrote, “My issues with my eldest daughter go back years. This isn’t about Kelly. If & when my daughter is ready to apologize and talk to me, we will work on repairing our relationship.” He added, “In the meantime she can live the rest of her life knowing she excluded me (& my wife) from her wedding. This is on my daughter, not Kelly.”
Rick then made a statement directly to Page Six on the issue. He noted that he’s “sure” most people “can identify with having problems within their own family.” Rick explained, “My issues with my oldest daughter have been going on for many years. It’s unfortunate it’s come to this. I’m not going to detail all that’s transpired, but I will say the lines of communication were always open.” As for the wedding, Rick stated, “She chose not to call and we believe didn’t invite me and Kelly to her wedding to hurt us. She’s a grown woman and will have to live with her decision. We wish her the best.”
Once news broke that Kelly and Rick weren’t invited, Kelly’s attacks on Veronica began. She tweeted, “Who doesn’t invite their own Dad to their wedding? Everyone knows she’s a narcissistic spoiled brat ! [My daughter] Jolie [Dodd] and my friends hate her. Ricks friends hate her as well !! Always two sides to a story !” In another tweet, Kelly accused Veronica of calling her grandfather a “little bitch” and yelling at Jolie.
Kelly then took to Instagram Live and ranted, “I had nothing to do with this. She went and got married and i wish her the best. Rick is terribly hurt by this and she did it out of spite and it’s just sad.”
