Shana Moakler is staying in the news. And after losing out on the $250,000 Celebrity Big Brother grand prize, she is busy hustling, honey.
It has been fourteen years since Shanna’s divorce from Travis Barker. The perfect amount of time, I guess, for Shanna to auction off her engagement ring from the relationship. Shanna ran an auction on the ring using Worthy.com, according to Us Weekly. The bidding started on Friday, May 27, and was set to end on May 31 pending the amount of interest received.
Shanna is starting the bidding for the solitaire stone surrounded by a diamond-encrusted band at $51,00. She said optimistically, “I’m hoping it sells for $120K. It was worth about $160K.”
“I think it is a beautiful piece and truly was my dream ring,” she continued, adding, “however, that chapter of my life is over and even though wearing it at one time brought me great joy, I hope it will find a new home and continue to bring someone as much happiness as it once did to me. It’s truly an iconic ring!”
The timing for Shanna’s sale caught some side-eye, though. The auction of the ring came less than one week after Travis’ official wedding ceremony with Kourtney Kardashian in Portofino, Italy, which followed their impromptu (and unofficial) Las Vegas ceremony and their California courthouse ceremony.
Shanna claims the timing is merely a coincidence, though. “I’m sure people would assume that [it’s related to the wedding], but I simply wanted to find a proper seller.” Shanna added that she is confident her ring with receive “the attention it deserves,” adding that she has nothing but well wishes for the happy newlyweds.
“I wish the happy couple a lovely marriage. I will continue to only want the best for my children,” she said. “It was a beautiful gesture to include my children in such a gorgeous affair.”
Shanna has been nothing but cheerful about Travis’ new relationship and several ceremonies. Following the faux elopement in Vegas she explained, “Travis and I haven’t been together for almost a decade. We co-parent, we’re friends. Do I want him to be happy? Absolutely. I want him to be happy and if she makes him happy, I think that’s awesome.”
