So if you watched Real Housewives of Dubai, what did you think? I must know! Because the reviews from fans online are pretty split. Some loved the glitz and glamour and the new stylized production. Others felt like it was overproduced and inauthentic. I am still on the fence. It’s hard to judge a Housewives franchise after a lone trailer and one episode. Especially one that is as unique as RHODubai.
Even though we are just starting the series, cast member Caroline Stanbury already has a casting suggestion. She spoke with Page Six and revealed that she thinks Lindsay Lohan would fit the bill. Said Caroline, “I’ve known Lindsay for years. She’s an actress. She’d be a great Housewife!” Unfortunately, Caroline doesn’t really think it will happen, citing Lindsay’s busy schedule. Caroline added, “I don’t think she’d want to do it. Her first love [is acting].”
She continued, “I actually spoke to her today. She’s doing a new movie and is super happy and has got her [‘Lohdown’] podcast. I can’t imagine she’d be joining us but happy to have her if she wants to.”
And while Caroline would be Lindsay’s closest ally, a few other cast members are already familiar with Lindsay on a personal level. Chanel Ayan shared, “Yes, I have met her a couple of times, partied with her. She’s a very good friend of a friend of mine.” And Chanel has a more optimistic view about Lindsay joining. Chanel remarked, “I did actually ask that friend of mine that’s very close to her if she wanted to be part of it. She said she loves the [franchise] and she watches [The Real Housewives] and she’s obsessed with the show. So that’s a good thing.”
Another RHODubai star, Dr. Sara Al Madani, also wouldn’t mind seeing Lindsay join the cast. She noted, “I’ve met her once and she’s a nice person. I feel like she has a guard and once that guard is down you get to know her better. But why not?” Caroline Brooks and Nina Ali are also down for Lindsay as an addition. Caroline B said, “I don’t know her, but I think that she’d be great.” Nina added, “We’d love to have her on. I’ve met Lindsay a few times, talked to her a lot. I haven’t actually seen her in quite a while but she would be a great addition to the show.”
But there are detractors. Lesa Milan doesn’t think that Lindsay fits the mold of a Real Housewife. Lesa explained, “[She could join] if she checks all the boxes. Wife? No. Mother? No. I don’t know if she’d be a good fit, to be honest. I love her, but yeah.”
