Moving on. The relatively low-key breakup between Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz seems to be staying that way. Despite Katie officially filing for divorce in March, the two continued in the Valley Village mansion they bought together. Katie noted shortly after her split,“We do still live together in our house, and we’re just trying to navigate these steps together and really work on becoming friends in that sense, and obviously we have the same friends and trying to hang out in a group together going through this and not making it awkward for anyone and not make anyone choose sides – that’s been important to us.”
But the Vanderpump Rules stars couldn’t do it forever and just this week, the two finally began the process of moving out. Katie made an emotional post on Instagram to mark her last day there. Her post featured a picture of herself sitting in the middle of a room in their empty home. She wrote, “I hate goodbyes. And this one hurts a lot. The emotions and words are hard to pin down. Closing this chapter on my life feels like attending my own funeral. But I’m very much alive.”
She concluded, “Thank you house for being the coziest brightest home, for the memories, for being my sanctuary, for letting me dress you up like a hallmark movie set at Christmas and for being OURS. I’m going to miss coming home.” The Instagram account Comments By Bravo saw Tom’s response and shared it in their own post. Tom commented, “Last scene from the fresh prince of bel-air vibes. [heart emoji] This house is magical.”
It sounds like Tom is having a hard time letting go. He’s previously revealed that the divorce was Katie’s decision and took all of the blame. He also continued to wear his wedding ring after the split. But when he finally stopped, he admitted that he was still “madly in love” with Katie.
Regardless, the now former couple will have to continue moving forward in each others’ lives thanks to season 10 of VPR being renewed. It looks like both Katie and Tom will be back for the filming of the new season, which will likely focus on the aftermath of their breakup.
