Vicki Gunvalson may have finally moved on, but not before pissing off her Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Ex-Wives Club castmates. When the Real Housewives of Orange County OG came to the show, she was fresh off a breakup with former fiance, Steve Lodge. And according to Brandi Glanville, that put a real damper on things.
In a joint interview with RHUGT castmate, Jill Zarin, Brandi told Page Six that Vicki was a real bitch. Said the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, “We didn’t know that at the time, so she just came in being a bitch.” But Jill, who has been close friends with Vicki for years, defended her. Jill explained, “I’m going to defend Vicki. First of all, I have a lot of empathy for Vicki.” She added, “We all know that Vicki has said she does not want to be alone, she cannot be alone, she must have a man. She says she’s insecure about it, she knows it’s her issue. The day she left to come to the trip, her boyfriend moved out or broke up with her.”
After 5 years together, Vicki and Steve announced the end of their engagement in September of 2021. Shortly thereafter, Vicki headed to Massachusetts to film RHUGT at Dorinda Medley’s Berkshires estate. While she was out of town, Steve moved out, blindsiding Vicki in the process. This led Vicki to believe he was cheating on her. She stated of the move out, “I had no idea he was already planning on moving out when I left. I had no idea there was another woman. He was home with me every single night.”
Steve claims that the two broke up in December of 2020, but continued to spend their time together. There were even pictures of them together on her Instagram. Either way, Steve blindsided Vicki again when he announced he was engaged to Janis Carlson just three months after their breakup. The two married in April of this year.
Vicki was clearly not in the mood to share her plight on RHUGT. Brandi revealed that Vicki didn’t tell everyone about it until the “very last day” of filming. But Jill already knew and stated, “I thought everybody knew. She had told me. I guess she didn’t tell everyone else. But I knew that this had happened with this man, and she was a mess! She can’t control her feelings. That’s what makes her the greatest ‘Housewife’ of all time.” The former Real Housewives of New York veteran continued to gush, “If she’s feeling like a guy abandoned her and dumped her and everything else, she can’t put the smile on and fake it. She’s not going to. She’s going to be sullen and sad and depressed — and we all had to deal with that because that’s what happened.”
But Brandi doesn’t totally agree with that. She interjected, “[Vicki] was pissing everyone off — maybe not Jill, but everyone else.”
