Creditors are really turning up the heat in the alleged embezzlement case against Tom Girardi. The once respected lawyer has found himself disbarred and disgraced after he stood accused of stealing settlement funds from his clients. Which includes orphans and widows. And his wife, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne is smack dab in the middle of the battle to recover funds.
As reported by Radar Online, one of Tom and Erika’s many creditors, Arsani Sidarous, filed a motion to sell off their mansion at auction. The Pasadena mansion boasts 4 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms and 10,277 square feet. After Tom and his law practice were forced into bankruptcy in 2020, plenty of creditors have come calling. The recent motion filed revealed that Tom and Erika’s former residence has $23 million worth of liens against it. The trustee who has been overseeing the sale since January of 2021 has failed to find a buyer for the home.
Back when the house originally hit the market in May of last year, it was listed at $13 million. By June, the price was reduced to $11.5 million. After a few more price slashes, it’s currently listed at $7.98 million. Arsani argued in his filing that the sale of the home would bring in a big chunk to pay off Tom’s debt. Which includes the $3.2 million owed to Arsani.
Erika and Tom moved out of the residence shortly after Tom’s downfall. Erika downsized to a $1.5 million bungalow, which has been featured on RHOBH. Amid an Alzheimer’s diagnosis, the 83 year-old Tom was moved into a senior living facility. His brother is now overseeing his estate through a conservatorship.
Tom isn’t the only one creditors are coming for. Despite filing for divorce a month before Tom’s alleged misdeeds were exposed, Erika is still on the hook as his wife. She has been accused of not only being aware of what he was doing, but benefitting greatly from it. Erika has always maintained that she knew nothing about Tom’s business.
As part of the bankruptcy, Erika is being sued for $25 million. While she has moved to dismiss the case, it still stands. Additionally, she’s been battling to keep possession of an expensive pair of earrings Tom previously gave her. Erika recently shared an update on Tom, stating, “He thinks he’s still practicing law.”
