It’s onwards and upwards for Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz. These two have finally moved out of their shared home following a filing for divorce in March of 2022. On the day of the move, Katie wrote, “I hate goodbyes. And this one hurts a lot. The emotions and words are hard to pin down. Closing this chapter on my life feels like attending my own funeral. But I’m very much alive.”
Tom, for his part, has maintained that he will “always love” Katie. He said, “Katie’s been so f—king great. I hate the word accommodating. It sounds so sterile, but she’s been amazing. We’ve been respectful of each other’s boundaries. But she’s my girl. Even though we’re separated, I would do anything for her.”
As nice as they make it sound, there’s really no curiosity from fans about where this relationship went left. Tom has put Katie on the backburner for his business and cheated in the past. These two have been at each other’s throats as long as we have known them. And that’s putting it lightly.
Katie has struggled, since the beginning of Vanderpump Rules, with Tom’s deeply committed friendship turned business relationship with Tom Sandoval. Interestingly, Tom Sandoval is now speaking out about his shock over the split. He and Ariana Madix did an interview with The Bachelorette’s Rachel Lindsay for Extra.
“I honestly did not [see it coming],” Tom said about the divorce announcement. “I was completely in shock. It’s like ‘mom and dad.'”
Ariana was asked if the break-up has shaken up her and Tom’s relationship at all. She responded, “It definitely, I think, puts things into perspective because you sometimes get complacent or take things for granted. And then you realize like, ‘oh my gosh’, you know, you can be together a really long time, and still that doesn’t mean that that’s forever.”
Tom and Katie aren’t the only long-time couple to split on the Vanderpump Rules cast. Season 10 of the show will likely feature a look into Lala Kent’s split from her ex-fiance, Randall Emmett. Fans should also see what’s been going on with Raquel Leviss and James Kennedy since their shocking reunion breakup.
