Those working in the yachting industry are a tight-knit group, both on land and the open sea. Even more binding is appearing on reality TV and being celebrated by Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live.
Fraser Olender is (hopefully) a permanent fixture as chief stew on Below Deck. Since Kate Chastain left the series, not a single replacement has been up to par. Fraser is a charming person. And he is rising to the challenge.
If he needs any advice about the job, Kate willingly provides the needed moral support. Bravoâs The Daily Dish reported that Fraser revealed that he and Kate have become close friends during a Q&A with Bravo.
âWe absolutely do [keep in touch]. I speak to her quite often and Iâm lucky to do so,â Fraser gushed. âIâm forcing her to make me the godfather of her baby. Sheâs not buying it just yet [laughs].â

They may have just become friends, but Fraser was an avid viewer of Below Deck and a huge fan of Kate during her tenure.
âI started watching Below Deck before I joined the industry and I do feel like I channeled Kate through a lot of my stew experience. I donât think Kate can ever be replaced,â Fraser revealed. âI just do the absolute best I can to get as close to how much fans have a love for her.â
Kate announced her pregnancy in December 2022 during an episode of Watch What Happens Live. The Below Deck alum explained that she will be raising her child as a single mom. As for her expectations for motherhood? Kate believes that âbeing a chief stew really trained me for it.â To which Andy responded, âI do too.â
So which skill-set from yachting will Kate rely on the most? Event planning. âIâm already planning so many birthday theme parties for you,â she joked in an Instagram post from December.
TELL US- SHOULD KATE CHOOSE FRASER AS HER CHILDâS GODFATHER? IF NO, THEN WHICH BELOW DECK CAST MEMBER WOULD YOU CHOOSE? DO YOU THINK BEING A CHIEF STEW WILL PREPARE KATE FOR MOTHERHOOD?
