Congratulations are in order! Real estate reality TV stars Heather Rae Young and Tarek El Moussa just welcomed their first child together. It’s Heather’s first time being a mom and Tarek’s third time at fatherhood. He shares two kids with his ex Christina Hall. In a statement to US Weekly, the couple celebrated the exciting news about their expanding family.
“Becoming a father for the third time is just as exciting as it was the first time. Our baby boy is doing amazing and Heather was a rockstar during labor,” Tarek shared in the statement. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen Tay and Bray as happy as they were when they met their little brother.”
“We are on cloud 9 and soaking in all of the snuggles and bonding with our little guy as an official family of 5,” Tarek continued. “My heart has grown even bigger and I’m feeling like the luckiest guy on the planet.”
Of course, Tarek was married to his ex Christina for nearly a decade, and they were the stars of the hit HGTV show Flip or Flop. When they divorced in 2019, their show came to an end too. At the time, a source close to the production told People that “the show was just too intimate of a setting,” so they had to “close the chapter.”
Christina and Tarek share two kids, Taylor and Brandon. Although Heather deeply enjoys her role as a stepmom, the Selling Sunset star felt it was important to have a child with Tarek.
“These kids are truly our everything, so we decided to say our vows first to the kids and second to each other,” Heather shared after their wedding in 2021, showing her dedication as a stepmom. “This is just a tiny portion of what I said to the kids, but I truly meant every word: When your daddy and I decided to be fully committed, I was 100 percent committing myself to you too. I am beyond honored to be your bonus mommy. Thank you for allowing me to love your daddy with all my heart. I love you both more than you will ever know,” she added.
In January 2022, a few months after Tarek and Heather tied the knot, they shared that they had begun the process of retrieving eggs and freezing embryos. Then in July, they announced Heather’s pregnancy by sharing photos of a beautiful maternity shoot. “Surprise!!! Baby El Moussa coming early 2023!!,” Heather wrote under the picture at the time.
Keeping up with their tradition of sharing their lives with fans through social media, Heather and Tarek gave a glimpse of their new bundle of joy this week, cradled in his parents’ hands.
“Our baby boy is here,” Tarek wrote on Instagram. “Mama & baby are happy, healthy, tired but doing well. Our hearts are so happy.”
Amid the baby news, Heather’s Selling Sunset co-stars showed love in their Instagram comments. Chrishell Stause wrote that she was “sending so much love.” Amanza Smith added, “I can’t wait to meet your perfect sweet baby boy! I love you all. Sooo excited!”
