It was only a matter of time before more details about Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney’s marriage came to light. To their credit, the pair presented an amicable front. They were vague as to the reasons why Katie filed for divorce.
Tom and his business partner Tom Sandoval appeared on a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live to discuss where the estranged couple now stand. According to People, it seems reconciliation is not an option.
“In that moment, it felt like finality. It felt like a nail in the coffin. I just knew it from her tone, the look on her face,” Tom admitted. “I felt it in my soul that it was just done.” Not to say that Tom didn’t hope reconciliation was on the table, only that it was “subconsciously” manifested.
Host Andy Cohen then asked Tom if he had cheated on Katie during the course of their decade-long romance. Tom confessed, “I strayed a few times. There were times I thought the relationship was going to come to an end and I was a sloppy douchebag.”
The interview focus then shifted to Katie. The Vanderpump Rules stars were asked in a game of “Agree or Disagree” who they think will remarry first. Tom agreed that his ex will walk down the aisle first, adding he “might be out of the game forever.”
“I don’t think I’ll ever get married again,” Tom said. “I’ll fall in love, I just don’t think I’ll ever be married again.”
Tom and Katie announced their split in March 2022 over social media. At the time, Katie wrote the “ending [was] not met with resentment or animosity.” She added that they would “continue to love and support one another’s happiness.”
For his part, Tom praised Katie for teaching him, “so much about love & being a better partner.”
At the time the season premiere of Pump Rules was filmed, Tom and Katie were still “friends,” though she insisted that Tom agree not to date their friends. During the episode, Katie explained, “I really value my friendship with Tom, and I want to remain friends, but there’s just one rule: don’t hook up with anyone in the friend group.”
Because of this ultimatum, Katie was asked to give an update on her and Tom’s friendship during the Vanderpump Rules premiere party.
“We’re not best friends, we’re not super close, but we’re trying to find that sort of sweet spot,” Katie told People. “Because we have dogs and a lot of love for one another and I just feel like he’s still such a huge part of my life and just kind of not having him in my life just feels so weird.”

Of course, Tom’s infamous hookup with co-star Raquel Leviss complicated his friendship with Katie. And the Season 10 trailer teased a huge fallout between Katie and Tom because of it.
Since that news broke, Katie created more “distance” from her ex, though they still co-parent their fur babies and try to keep things amicable at least.
“I think just having that little bit of distance from one another is probably the healthiest thing. So I think we’re kind of finding that right now,” she concluded.
