Vanderpump Rules is back and might be better than ever. Well, nothing will beat those good old days watching a bunch of unknown hopefuls risk their jobs at Sur to get drunk at work. But it’s pretty close. The show feels like it’s found its footing again now that the majority of its core couples have split up. It’s the refresh Pump Rules needed, despite the personal drama heaped on its cast members’ personal lives.
One shocking moment from the last VPR reunion was when James Kennedy and Raquel Leviss announced their split. We had just watched James do an over-the-top proposal, but it wasn’t enough to save this sinking ship. Now, Raquel is entering her villain era on the show and I’m living for it. James, on the other hand, is back to his old ways of drinking and moving in way too quickly with a significant other. I think I’ve seen this film before, and I didn’t like the ending. Kristen Doute did too–if you can remember back far enough.
Lala Kent isn’t holding back on VPR now that she’s burned down her former life with Randall Emmett. Lala is doing the most, including exposing the truth about her history with James. During the Season 10 premiere, Lala revealed that she and James did hook up while they were both dating Randall and Raquel, respectively. It was some piping hot tea that Pump Rules fans suspected for years, but one unsuspecting bystander is DJ James Kennedy’s new boo.
James has a new girlfriend named Ally Lewber. All we really know about her is that she looks like James’ mom, according to Raquel. But that’s another issue. She spoke to Page Six about her reaction to James and Lala admitting they both cheated with one another. “I was mad at him for a minute,” Ally said. “I felt for Raquel a lot in that moment — just knowing [they] were about to get married and she was never gonna know this.” It sounds like Ally had more respect for Raquel’s feelings than Lala, but that isn’t anything new between these two former foes.
Ally and James talked it through after Lala dropped the bomb in front of the cameras and it apparently isn’t a major red flag for her. James Kennedy is a walking red flag of a boyfriend, so who even knows? She’ll find out later that it’s not about the pasta — it’s about James’ inability to grow up. That’s the problem we see over and over again in his relationships.
