Real Housewives of Miami star Lisa Hochstein is currently involved in divorce proceedings. This is sad because Lisa and estranged husband, Lenny Hochstein, share two children. And no one likes to see a beautiful family break up.
Lenny is with another woman. And by all accounts, Lisa is out dating and being fantastic. While the couple are having an acrimonious go of ending their married life, it sure turned out to be a handy storyline for Lisa.
During the demise of Lenny and Lisa’s arrangement union, Lisa claimed to be suffering from numerous financial issues. Despite the fact that she earns a steady paycheck from being on a television show, Lisa stated she’s about broke as a joke. In November 2022, she alleged Lenny cut her off financially. This apparently resulted in a credit card being declined when Lisa attempted to buy diapers and food for her kids. Oddly enough, we have not heard about any transactions of Lisa’s personal items being denied via the merchant.
On the bright side, if the card was really declined and her kids were hungry, at any time she could have sold a Birkin for $40k. Then she could have fed herself, her kids, and probably an entire community of hungry children in Africa for at least a month. #themoreyouknow.
Unfortunately, diapers aren’t the only thing Lisa can’t afford. It looks like her lawyers want her to pay up. According to Page Six, the cost of Lisa’s divorce is skyrocketing. Lisa is alleged to owe more than $85,000 to the legal team representing her case. Attorney Paul Leinoff claims she owes “legal fees, charges and suit monies owed to Leinoff & Lemos, P.A.” totaling $49,171.48. Welp, looks like that Birkin can be sold for something else now!

The lawyer added that Lisa owes the accounting company Kaufman Rossin & Co. an additional $35,841.90 for the group’s services. Interest will be added to the total of $85,013.38 until Lisa pays up her legal debt. My guess is she wanted her legal fees paid by Lenny.
The companies want Lisa to pay the amount due with any funds she receives from Lenny in a settlement. A rep for Lisa says a hearing to decide who will pay for the attorneys’ costs (there it is!) is planned for April 2023. This is normal in divorce proceedings.
Since Lenny’s filing, Lisa has fought for emergency financial assistance. Court records state that after the separation, Lenny cancelled her credit cards. Lenny said Lisa makes about $30k PER episode of RHOM, which is nothing to sneeze at. In December 2022, Lenny revealed Lisa purchased $9k worth of designer items in one week. After that transaction, he allegedly put a monthly limit on her spending.
It was reported that Lenny allegedly forced Lisa to return the expensive items in exchange for money that could be used for the children. Lenny also asserted Lisa “drives fancy automobiles, including a Range Rover and a Rolls-Royce.” He further stated Lisa makes “excessive” requests for financial assistance while still living in their Star Island estate.
Lenny and Lisa are attempting to settle the matter of child support without the aid of a hearing. While I’m sure any judge in the greater Dade County area appreciates that sentiment greatly, it doesn’t look like these two do very well left to their own devices. Team Kids on this one.
