Dancing with the Stars alum Cheryl Burke knows all about how to navigate a public divorce. Now she publicly has to watch as her ex-husband falls in love with another woman.
To say Cheryl was slightly put off by the speed with which Matthew recovered would be an accurate assessment. When news broke about Matthew and his new love Rozanda “Chilli” Thomas exploring parenthood, Cheryl had some thoughts. Despite her past words about Matt and Chilli, this time she might surprise you.
According to Page Six, Cheryl thinks her ex’s desire to procreate with Chilli is “amazing.” We stan a non-bitter queen! On a recent episode of The Most Dramatic Podcast Ever with Chris Harrison, Cheryl said she’s not “surprised” because Matthew has always wanted to be a dad.
Cheryl added, “I really, truly hope he can actually have a kid with Chilli.” She also wishes the couple well. Cheryl is no stranger to wanting to have a child. She had conversations about growing their family when still married to Matthew.
She explained, “He comes from a huge family. But I always had said, ‘As long as I had to shove my body in a dance costume, me thinking about being pregnant probably isn’t something I can talk about at the moment.’” Unfortunately, their relationship began to unravel during the pandemic. Earlier this month, Matthew was quoted as saying, “My life is in complete bloom right now,” and admitted kids are in his and Chilli’s “game plan”
Cheryl and Matthew divorced in September 2022. Matthew and Chilli have been publicly dating since January. Cheers to Cheryl for not taking the toxic route and keeping her head up. We love to see it.
