Normally, Bravo blesses our springtime with the gift that is the Real Housewives of New York City. Unfortunately, this spring, we’re still left trying to figure out when we’ll get our sacred Housewives show back on our screens. We were holding out hope for RHONY: Legacy. But now that we know the spinoff is officially scrapped, we have no choice but to shift our focus toward the rebooted RHONY Season 14.
Bravo previously announced the all-new, diverse cast of women for Season 14. We so badly want them to be a hit. As Bravo’s The Daily Dish reported, two RHONY newbies, Jenna Lyons and Erin Lichy, recently sat down for interviews and teased what fans can expect from the RHONY reboot. Sadly, they’re struggling to convince us that we’re not in for a snooze fest.
Jenna flexed her star power and appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. During the show, the former J. Crew president joked about her unexpected career move from fashion executive to Real Housewife. She quipped, “[It’s] not the most, like, natural career change, I know.”
“When I left J.Crew, I was like, ‘What am I gonna do?'” Jenna explained. “And then I went on podcasts and they asked me if I had heard that there was gonna be a reboot of The Real Housewives [of New York City]… and they said there’s never been an openly gay woman on [RHONY]. I was like, ‘Hmm, could be something.'”

Jenna and her friends have some huge shoes to fill, but the way she talks about the show, it’s almost as if she’s unaware of what fans expect. Still, she confirmed that filming has wrapped with the exception of a few more confessional interviews.
When Jimmy Fallon asked about the group dynamics and potential drama, she promised the season would be “hot,” but didn’t offer up any details. “Trust me. It’s a moment,” Jenna stated.
Erin also hyped up the show’s upcoming season in a separate interview. The real estate agent and designer sat down with Entertainment Tonight and shared that we can expect to see her balancing motherhood with her demanding career on RHONY Season 14. She also described the production experience as “fulfilling,” which is something you don’t hear Housewives say often.
“Entering into unchartered territory, while challenging, has been fulfilling in ways I never would have expected. Having the ability to portray my version of NYC has been truly very rewarding,” Erin said.
So far, everything that Erin and Jenna have shared sounds fine and dandy. But where’s the drama? How long does it take before they start trashing each other? So far, the only drama we’ve heard about RHONY Season 14 involved Lizzy Savetsky quitting the show a few weeks into filming. Allegedly, she had a falling out with a cast member because she refused to offer her matchmaking services to people who weren’t Jewish. Surely, there’s more to come, right?
