Ask, and you shall receive. Love is Blind fans put out a Change.org petition begging Netflix to replace Nick Lachey and Vanessa Lachey, and they might get their wish. According to Page Six, Netflix is in the market for new hosts for the controversial dating series.
Instead of a former boy band member and his wife, Netflix reportedly wants to add Love is Blind success story, Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton, into the hosting gig. An insider close to the show suggested that the production wants to “keep their ratings up,” which means it’s time for “a change.”
News of the hosting shakeup comes amid a mountain of bad press for Love is Blind. Nick made headlines recently for drunkenly confronting a photographer. Former cast members are criticizing the show, alleging that the production team treated them poorly. Then, there was that disastrous Season 4 reunion that went viral for all of the wrong reasons. Not only did Netflix drop the ball with their attempt at a “live reunion,” but Nick and Vanessa failed at having any chemistry with the cast. It was cringe and not in a fun way. So, it sounds like Netflix is ready to give them the boot.
A source close to the production told DailyMail.com, “There’s always been whispers about replacing them, especially now after the live reunion special, which was a complete disaster on so many levels.”

The insider explained that there are behind-the-scenes fears that Love is Blind fans have lost their connection with Nick and Vanessa. The Change.org petition supports that theory. So, they believe that bringing in Lauren and Cameron will help bridge that gap.
“Viewers feel a connection with Lauren and Cameron because they are the real deal,” the source explained. “They are down-to-earth, kind people who can actually help the contestants because they have walked in their shoes. People want to relate to the hosts — and at this point they can’t relate to Vanessa or Nick.”
Of course, Lauren and Cameron met on the first season of Love is Blind and found their happily ever after. They’re one of the cutest couples to emerge from the show. Everyone loves them, and since their season aired, Lauren has been a vocal critic of the show and its treatment of Black women. So, it makes sense to bring her and her husband to lead the show into a new era. Either way, Nick and Vanessa need to update their resumes because they might be out of a job soon.
