We all make sacrifices in the name of love. Sarah Hyland freely admits to being a “Disney freak” and says her husband Wells Adams had to “adapt very quickly” to her infatuation.
Claiming Wells had turned her into a “golf wife” since their August 2022 wedding, Sarah admitted also introducing him to a “whole new world.” Though he doesn’t yet have the same level of expertise as his wife when it comes to Disney musicals, the Bachelorette alum had to become a Disney fan for their relationship to work, according to his wife.
“I think he enjoys the theater more than he did before,” the Modern Family star told People. “As well as Disneyland. Anything Disney.”
“The Disney freak that I am,” she laughed, “he immediately had to adapt very, very quickly. Bachelor Nation first met Wells in 2016, when he was a contestant on Season 12 of The Bachelorette. Even though he failed to win the heart of JoJo Fletcher, he stole the hearts of the rest of America and caught the eye of his future wife Sarah. After tweeting about her crush on the former radio DJ, he tweeted back and eventually asked her out for tacos. And the rest is history. Wells and Sarah got engaged in 2019 and married in 2022.
Calling herself a “golf wife,” she and Wells attended The Masters together earlier this month. “I love being a golf wife,” Sarah captioned an Instagram post from the tournament, “but I love @wellsadams more than anything. Watching your eyes light up like a kid on Christmas morning was my favorite thing.”
The adorable pair, who are cute enough to be a real-life Disney couple, will mark their one-year wedding anniversary in August. Sarah admits they haven’t given much thought to how they’ll celebrate their special day. “I think we’re just trying to figure out our schedules for the rest of the year,” the busy actress said.
Aside from his bartending job on Bachelor In Paradise, which often includes counseling the lovelorn, Wells has been busy with several projects of his own. He hosted the pizza-centric series Best in Dough, which aired on Hulu in the Fall of 2022. The show’s future is uncertain, as it has yet to be renewed for a second season.
Earlier this month, Sarah told People that nothing had really changed following their wedding eight months ago.
“It’s like nothing’s changed in the best way possible,” Sarah gushed about life with her Prince Charming. “I just got more diamonds on my finger.” Lucky girl. I hope they get their Disney “happily ever after.”
