Real Housewives of Miami star Larsa Pippen started dating Marcus Jordan in September 2022. Marcus is the son of NBA legend Michael Jordan. Michael was also friends, and teammates, with Larsa’s ex-husband, Scottie Pippen. It’s a good thing that Larsa decided to stop dating athletes.
This situation must be tense. “I’m not crazy. [The relationship is] probably awkward for them [Michael and Scottie],” Larsa previously said. Duh!
Of course, Michael gave his opinion about the relationship. When asked by a paparazzi if he approved of Larsa dating Marcus, Michael said, “No!” We don’t know if he objected to their 16-year age difference, or the tangled friendships involved.
No family dinners with Michael
Larsa was a guest on Jana Kramer’s podcast, Whine Down. She shared that she and Marcus “do everything together.” Jana asked Larsa if she had gone to dinner with Michael. “No, I haven’t hung out with his dad,” she replied.
“I’ve only hung out with his mom,” Larsa shared, referencing Michael’s ex-wife Juanita. She added that her boyfriend’s family is “very private.” Marcus will be featured on RHOM next season. The reality star was “sure they were very skeptical about him being on the show.”
Larsa and Marcus addressed Michael’s disapproval on their podcast. She admitted that she was “embarrassed” and “traumatized” by his comments.
Marcus didn’t take his dad’s comment seriously. “And when I saw it immediately, I thought, ‘He’s playing.’ He’s joking, he’s laughing. He’s just being playful, he’s a little lit, maybe off the Socorro [tequila],’” Marcus said. So, we are blaming it on the alcohol?
According to the couple, Michael contacted them after his comment hit the headlines. He wanted to make sure they “didn’t take things the wrong way.” I’m not sure how many ways you can spin a one-word answer.
If this duo goes the distance, there will be some uncomfortable family dinners on the horizon.
