Bravo milked Scandoval for everything it was worth, and it ended up being worth quite a bit. We’re still talking about it now, after all. But now, Bravo’s in some hot water, in part thanks to Rachel Leviss’ recent interview with Bethenny Frankel.
While Rachel was mostly full of it, she claimed that Tom Sandoval had filmed her intimately without her consent. If that’s true, Bravo would have to thoroughly justify Tom’s inclusion in Vanderpump Rules Season 11.
As a result, we’ve seen multiple attempts to try and minimize Scandoval, on the part of Tom, Rachel, and Bravo. Despite all the press from Scandoval, it was supposedly never as bad as we thought. And whether or not Jax Taylor realized it, he just added to the minimization effort.
Jax defends Tom— “we have all made mistakes”
Recently, Jax took a dig at Tom on Twitter, asking if he needed a job. The joke was spurred on by TomTom’s alleged struggles in the wake of Scandoval. Instagram user @cici.loves.you posted the tweet, and Jax ended up commenting. He wrote of Tom, “We have a long history and we like making … fun [of] each other.”
“It’s harmless, don’t read into things,” he said. “I want the best for Tom he’s going through a lot and I know he deserved a lot of it but I think it’s time we just let things heal or be and move on. No point in grilling the guy anymore we have all made mistakes in life.” As expected, other commenters weren’t too happy with the sudden change of heart.
Many accused Jax of piggybacking off the press of Scandoval, calling him hypocritical for doing a 180 now. As one reply wrote, “YOU need to be the one to move on from it. You knew what you were doing … let’s not pretend you didn’t just USE his problems to promote YOUR business venture.” Another said Tom was guilty of making people “forget how much of a tool Jax is and making him relevant again.”
Vanderpump Rules Season 11 is expected to air on Bravo in early 2024.
