It was apparent to nearly everyone that Real Housewives of New York needed a major shake-up at the end of Season 13. What came as a shock, however, was the way Bravo decided to shake things up.
As we all know, a RHONY reboot was rolled out with a cast of six New York newbies. Bringing in a new Housewife is always a gambit, so bringing in six was a real shot in the dark on Bravo’s part.
But so far, it seems to be paying off. Those who tuned in to RHONY Season 14 have been pleasantly surprised thus far. Still, every cast is going to garner criticisms, and Jessel Taank recently addressed such while also teasing the Season 14 cast trip.
The RHONY cast will “tear it up” in the Caribbean
In an interview with Access, Jessel teased, “The cast trip—I can’t share too much. But let me tell you, it might be one of the most explosive in the history of the franchise.” The tease was prompted by the interview telling the star that many viewers found the new Housewives “too normal.”
More to that point, Jessel also said, “We’re only on week five … It progressively gets more and more dramatic. As you start to get to know us and our personalities, you really start to see we’re anything but normal,” she laughed.
“This group of women are extremely dynamic, opinionated, we’re not afraid to speak our mind. And then put us in a room together and it’s just fireworks. As for the cast trip, she also said, “We’re in the Caribbean … rum and everyone’s really happy … and then it’s like six New Yorkers, and we tear it up.”
Real Housewives of New York continues on Sundays at 9/8c on Bravo.
