On more than one occasion, certain Bravo personalities have been known to vie for the spotlight a bit too much. It often earns them the nickname of attention-seeking. Vicki Gunvalson was one of the first Housewives ever and is credited with starting the popular franchise. However, as the first, there is always pressure to stay on top. Vicki often pays the price in the form of emotional outbursts.
After Season 14, Vicki was not too pleased to find she had been demoted to a “friend of” role. She screamed backstage at the reunion, “The fact that they’re in one or two acts already and now they’re gonna throw me in like I’m thirsty. I feel like I’m with the bottom feeders. I feel like I’m with the catfish!”
Over the years, Vicki has been a memorable Real Housewives star with scenes that included freaking out at Gretchen Rossi while dressed up in 80s garb, yelling about a sprinter van, and recently crying over her tequila in Mexico. Vicki knows how to stay relevant as she often posts on social media about current events, like her opinions on the COVID-19 shot. The grandma is all about still being the main squeeze on the original franchise, with fans wishing someone would pass her some orange juice to quench that thirst.
Lisa Rinna
After eight seasons, Lisa Rinna was finally removed from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, having her diamond snatched from her tiny hands. Up until her departure, Lisa was pretty dehydrated, and fans often were treated to bikini dance segments on her Instagram and a heck of a lot of pot stirring. Along with multiple thirst traps, Lisa made sure always to have her opinions on blast, solidifying that she would be heard loud and clear.
Lisa’s “look at me” attitude often rubbed viewers the wrong way. They hated how she would narrate everything going on in a scene. The mother of two was often called out for showering herself in designer labels, which fans labeled as manufactured, noting she was trying to prove she was in the in-crowd.
Candiace Dillard Bassett
Personally, Candiace Dillard Bassett has always been a thorn in my side as I tried to enjoy the Real Housewives of Potomac. The former beauty queen comes across as extremely spoiled and bratty, too. Candiace has often been unbearable as Bravo cameras often caught her talking about everyone, spreading lies and rumors.
Candiace has refused to own up to her wrongdoings for multiple seasons and rarely apologizes. When talking about herself, Candiace often becomes emotional. However, fans noticed early on that there’s no empathy toward others and their plights. Surly, even Candiace knows she has a hankering for a long gulp of water.
Melissa Gorga
Recently, Melissa Gorga showed up to a friend’s wedding wearing white; if that isn’t thirsty, we don’t know what is. Melissa has done a few things over the years to leave viewers believing she loves any press—positive or negative. The mother of three once posted on social media that people were taking snippets from her podcast and twisting them into news stories about her leaving the show. Others feel that the Gorgas are jealous that Teresa Giudice was given so much attention over her wedding. Sadly, regurgitating the same family feud storyline may have them rationing their reserves if they don’t become interesting soon.
For true Garden State fans, most have felt that Melissa has always been thirsty. However, it has gotten worse over the years. Between her failed music career, flexing about being the same size as her teenage daughter, and calling the paparazzi to her home, viewers are ready to move on from these forced storylines.
