Lisa Rinna took one last look at Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and decided she was done. It was a messy final season, that was clear enough to everyone, so it wasn’t much of a surprise when she decided she’d back down.
As far as brand recognition goes, Lisa is one of the most tightly connected to the Housewives franchise. It’s impossible to see her and not think of her time on Bravo. Perhaps that’s why she wants to stay as far away from reality TV as possible—to rebuild her brand. But even though Lisa’s done with reality TV, she decided she’d still return to the small screen.
When it came out that Lisa would be joining American Horror Stories, many online commentators jeered. Her time on Housewives soured everyone’s expectations. Now, a trailer is here, and commentators have a little more to go off of.
First look at Lisa in AHS’ “Tapeworm”
The new trailer saw Lisa in brief but effective flashes. Lisa costars in the episode “Tapeworm,” where she will portray a sinister modeling agent. According to Hulu, Lisa’s character mentors “an up-and-coming model who will stop at nothing in her hunger for success.”
Lisa was seen in the trailer speaking with this model, telling her, “Smize for the camera, sweetie.” Then, later, when the model expressed her fears that a monster was growing inside of her, Lisa’s character, asked, “But are you hungry?” General excitement over the trailer was palpable, with fans eager to experience Huluween.
Lisa’s return to TV will make her the second reality star featured in an AHS property this year. As many fans already know, Kim Kardashian is set to appear in American Horror Story: Delicate. Many fans have questioned the acting chops of both Kim and Lisa, but until each series comes out, all there is to do is speculate.
