Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 4 started on some rocky footing. Fans were unsure if RHOSLC would work without Jen Shah, who could no longer appear on the show due to her incarceration for a telemarketing fraud scheme.
So, Monica Garcia took Jen’s place on the show. Monica was in an interesting position as Jen’s former assistant. However, with some time, she quickly grew out of that role and took on an identity of her own.
Now, many fans have hailed Season 4 as the best season of RHOSLC so far, in no small part thanks to Monica. The newbie recently appeared on Watch What Happens Live to discuss her time working for Jen, and her choice to rat out her former employer.
Monica’s message to Jen: “Heal what is very broken”
Andy Cohen asked Monica how she found out what Jen was doing. Monica said, “Honestly, she told me.” Andy asked for clarification: “She told you? She said, ‘I am ripping off elderly people?’” Monica nodded and reaffirmed, “She told me how her scheme works. And she asked me to be a part of it.”
Andy asked how she responded, and Monica reported saying, “‘Absolutely not,’ and that’s when I reached out to my friend in the Secret Service.” Andy then asked what Jen’s reaction was to finding out Monica had spoken to the feds. Monica admitted they never got to talk after that point “because then [she] was a witness.”
Since Jen didn’t have a trial, she and Monica never even saw each other after the fact. Monica reported that the Shah squad was “furious” about her new Housewife status. Monica also reported having no contact with Jen since everything went down. She clarified that she wasn’t the one who opened a case against her. The case had already been open for 10 years.
When asked for a message to Jen, Monica said, “I hope you heal what is very broken inside of you.”
