Affairs are a common storyline over on Real Housewives. Most of the time, it’s the husbands who stand accused. And on this, yikes, as there have been a lot of unfaithful men over on Bravo. However, a few of the women have also been called out for their own wandering eyes.
Case in point, Kyle Richards is set to spend Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13 explaining her alleged cheating scandal with Morgan Wade. That said, Kyle’s marriage to Mauricio Umansky has been rocky for awhile. Therefore, at this point, many unanswered questions remain as to whether or not Kyle stepped out on an active marriage.
However, there have been other affair-based storylines that have been fully answered. With more than enough proof in place to help raise serious loyalty doubts, these are the Real Housewives who got caught cheating.
Phaedra Parks – Real Housewives of Atlanta
If you’re a longtime Real Housewives of Atlanta fan, then you probably already know that Phaedra Parks is the queen of word play. Rather than owning up to her mistakes, she often attempts speaking herself out of trouble(s). However, on her faithfulness to her now ex-husband, Apollo Nida, her denials fell on deaf ears. With receipts in hand, Apollo came for Phaedra, right before he checked into prison for bank fraud.
During RHOA Season 7, Apollo discovered text messages on Phaedra’s phone. These messages were sent to a contact labeled Mr. Chocolate. Upon reading these, Apollo called Peter Thomas, another cast member’s then-spouse, to help him hash it all out. Peter later said that when he called, it sounded like Apollo “was about to trip in the wrong direction.”
“I came home the other night, and I just happened to go through Phaedra’s phone. She’s always been trying to hold her phone real tight, lately, like I can’t use it…and she’s having an affair with some guy,” Apollo recalled. He even stated that Phaedra texted this man that he was her “happily ever after.” Also in the texts, Phaedra was allegedly counting down the days until Apollo checked into prison.
In a shady but understandable move, Apollo printed out Phaedra’s messages, proving that they were from her phone. Of course, even when confronted with the truth, the wordsmith Phaedra denied these claims, sticking to her guns that nothing physical happened. However, she later admitted that they were texting, but that Mr. Chocolate was just comforting her through hard times. Though we may never know how intertwined these two were, it’s clear that, bare minimum, an emotional affair transpired.
Michaele Salahi – Real Housewives of D.C.
Nothing says I trust my partner more than a shared Instagram account, which is exactly what the former Real Housewives of D.C. star Michaele Salahi has with her affair-partner turned husband, Neal Schon. Prior to her affair, Michaele and her White House party crashing partner, Tareq Salahi, had been married for eight years.
After the Washington, D.C.–based franchise ended in 2010, Michaele left Tareq. Basically, Michaele had stopped believin’ in her marriage. Instead of seeking a divorce, Michaele just up and left town to be with Journey‘s guitarist, Neal. Not knowing where his wife had gone, Tareq filed a missing person’s report.
After a deputy connected with Michaele, she told the officer that she did not want to go home.
It was also noted by E! News that “Mrs. Salahi advised that she did not want Mr. Salahi to know where she was.” Michaele and Neal have now been married for well over a decade, but this is still one of the wildest cheating scandal’s we’ve ever seen from the Real Housewives franchise.
Vicki Gunvalson – Real Housewives of Orange County
During Real Housewives of Orange County Seasons 1-7, Vicki Gunvalson was married to Donn Gunvalson. However, when Donn failed to fill her “love tank,” they divorced. At this point, Vicki introduced Brooks Ayers to the series, and everyone involved gave a huge collective NOPE. When pressed by viewers and cast members who were not on team Brooks, Vicki denied that their pairing had anything to do with her divorce from Donn.
Vicki’s story later changed during BravoCon 2022. While answering questions at a RHOC panel, Vicki admitted her “biggest regret.” Confessing that she hadn’t been honest, Vicki stated, “I divorced my husband for Brooks, and it’s the biggest regret I ever had. I will never, ever cheat again. It destroyed my family.”
Tamra Judge – Real Housewives of Orange County
Tamra Judge went after Jennifer Pedranti‘s boyfriend this season, as he has a history of cheating. Rightfully, Jennifer returned this favor at the Season 17 reunion. Here, she reminded Tamra that her own past wasn’t exactly clean.
To explain, from Seasons 1-5, Tamra was married to Simon Barney. “You’re a nasty, vile person…You can go f**k yourself, I want a divorce! F**k you!” screamed Tamra to Simon in Season 5. Needless to say, a very bitter divorce followed.
In his claims, Simon slammed his soon-to-be ex-wife, stating that she cheated on him with her now-husband, Eddie Judge. “My wife told me she was in Los Angeles. I ran into her in Las Vegas with my friend Eddie, our mutual friend,” he shared, adding that the two appeared to be a couple. Clearly over Tamra’s antics this season, fans recirculated Simon’s long-ago claims, proving that when it comes to cheating scandals, Tamra might want to take a seat.
