According to reports from Monica Garcia, she and her mother, Linda/“LD,” have always had a strained relationship. On the most recent episode of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, viewers got to see the rockiness of the relationship play out firsthand.
During a little party at Angie Katsanevas’ house, Monica and Angie were about to confront one another. The only problem was, that Monica invited her mother to the party, who stepped in before the two RHOSLC stars could get into it. Monica told her mom, “Don’t f*cking pull this sh*t with me when you don’t have my back.”
Monica said she felt “betrayed,” and that her mother had taken Angie’s side. Monica then addressed the situation publicly in a few interviews. She said the relationship between her and Linda never felt like a mother-daughter relationship, but more sisterly. Now, Linda has spoken out for herself.
Linda slams her daughter: “She did me dirty”
Linda took to X, formerly known as Twitter to address the situation, where she tilted the narrative a bit. She revealed, “Monica begged me to do this reality show with her. Begged. I didn’t want to do it. She told me all I had to do was cook and speak Portuguese. How did she return the favor? She did me dirty.”
She continued, addressing the idea that she was attempting to compete with Monica on camera. “Meanwhile, I would never compete with my only child–unless it’s sports. I’m too smart to try to go up against Monica, she’d chew me up and spit me out.”
Then, she closed by speaking on her performance as a mother. “Lastly, I never abandoned her. I always put her needs above my own, even in her adulthood. I’m not a perfect human but I *am* a devoted mother and Vóvó. God bless us everyone.” Monica had said on the show that she often wished she had a different mother, and imagined her mother wished for a different daughter.
