Kyle Cooke Reveals the Real Reason Carl Radke Split From Lindsay Hubbard

Kyle Cooke and Carl Radke started Summer House together and they’ll probably end the show together as well. They’ve been best friends and business partners, Carl even officiated Kyle’s wedding to Amanda Batula.

Over the years Kyle found his person and Carl remained on the prowl. He’s dated liberally but fell into a relationship with co-star Lindsay Hubbard. Lindsay has never been known for her shyness or fear of sharing her opinion, and she’s hit rough patches in the past. When Carl unceremoniously dumped her seemingly out of nowhere, Lindsay was shocked, but Summer House fans weren’t entirely surprised.

Now Kyle sheds some light on the “real” reason Carl threw in the towel and decided to start from scratch. E! News has the details.

Carl and Lindsay’s relationship wasn’t smooth sailing

While people post photos of their happiness and joy on social media, sometimes everything you see might not be accurate. As far as viewers knew, Lindsay and Carl were happily celebrating their engagement and moving forward with a November wedding.

Over the summer, Carl decided Lindsay wasn’t fun, called Summer House production, and broke up with her while cameras were rolling. A lot of folks thought Carl was King Douche for pulling that stunt and others believed Carl didn’t want a breakup without witness protection.

According to Kyle, things were never easy between the couple. “It’s no secret that they’ve been in constant couple’s therapy ever since they basically started dating,” he began. “From my perspective, there were times where I was like, ‘Man, it’s almost like the only time they could communicate on any given week was in therapy.”

The communication wasn’t communicating

And even though Lindsay and Carl were doing the work, they couldn’t get in sync with each other. “It’s almost like they couldn’t even communicate anymore without a third party,” Kyle added.

“Carl was like, ‘That is not how I’m gonna spend the next 50 years of my life,” he revealed. While Carl is the one who ended the relationship, he’s not having an easy go. Lindsay has been on the receiving end of much support and has been sharing her healing journey on social media. Carl has been staying under the radar.

Kyle said, “I want to emphasize they’re both hurting. This is a very unfortunate situation. I think Carl has tried very, very hard to be as respectful as possible. Yes, he’s the one who called it off and he’s giving her space. He’s basically homeless letting her live in the apartment that they both pay for. But he drew the line in the sand.”

Gosh, I’m shocked Carl isn’t staying in the apartment, as that seems to be the thing to do these days when relationships end. While Lindsay sorts out her new station in life, Carl is basically treading water. “The poor guys trying to figure this all out in real time,” Kyle shared.

We’ll have to see what happens when Summer House filming picks back up, but it looks like we might be in for a very tense Season 8.
