Autumn 2023 might just be the fall of Mauricio Umansky. The reality TV personality has been getting more press than ever, and Bravo and ABC ought to be all too happy about that.
It all started with some marriage drama with Kyle Richards that fans will see play out on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13. Now, the drama’s moved over to Dancing with the Stars thanks to a paparazzi photo of Mauricio and his partner Emma Slater holding hands while exiting a restaurant.
To dispel any dating rumors, Mauricio and Emma took to Instagram, hoping to explain the situation. However, their explanation may have just made them even more guilty. Of course, for all anyone knows, that may have been the intention all along.

On October 26, Mauricio posted a video to his Instagram story with Emma where the two tried to explain the photo the paparazzi had taken of them. User @bravoandcocktails_ on Instagram took a screen recording of the statement. Emma explained the two have a “super supportive relationship,” and Mauricio added, “We’re really good friends.”
He further explained, “We went to a restaurant to go get some sushi right after rehearsal.” The two emphasized they were still in their rehearsal clothes. “Lots of the stories are wrong,” he said. “We were talking about the week during dinner … When we came out of dinner, we were recapping, and I reached out to grab Emma’s hand, and she grabbed my hand.”
He went on to say that they walked back to the car “just recapping and summarizing,” and that’s when the paparazzi caught the moment. “That’s the end of that story,” Mauricio said. But few were convinced. In reality, the video provided little explanation at all. As one IG user asked, “What PR team allowed this guilty-ass video ?”
Dancing with the Stars continues Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and Disney+, while Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13 continues on Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
