Lord knows that the Southern Charm cast needed comic relief. The season started heavy with Taylor Ann Green’s meltdown over Shep Rose at Madison LeCroy and Brett Randle’s wedding party. Then her hook up with Austen Kroll surfaced. Oh, and of course, there was the matter of a nude photo.
The Austen kiss shocked the group and, of course, hurt Olivia Flowers the most. That betrayal was nothing compared to what came next. Olivia tragically lost her brother, Connor, and the group rallied around the heartbroken beauty.
But Taylor’s series of social gaffes finally provided something to laugh over. Southern Charm martriach Patricia Altschul revealed that Taylor had sent nude photos to her son, Whitney Sudler-Smith. More than one cast member burst out laughing at the news. The comic relief was long overdue.
Taylor defends her nude pic actions because “God created the naked body”
It all came to a head at Jarret JT Thomas’ dinner when the gossip circled the whole group. Venita Aspen posed a valid question about inconsistencies in Taylor’s character.
“Taylor’s somebody who chose to be a Bible beater, God worshipper, ‘holy art thou, I praise the Lord every Sunday,’ but then you turn around and you’re sending nudes to Whitney,” Venita said during the recent episode while speaking to Leva Bonaparte.
Interestingly, Shep didn’t seem awfully concerned. Taylor defended herself by saying nothing was visible anyway. She also shared her feelings about Jesus in a confessional interview.
“God created the naked body. I believe we should all be naked,” she said. “Jesus isn’t going to hate me just because I sent a nude.”
It’s an interesting perspective, and a reach in terms of self-preservation.
As the dinner descended further into chaos. Madison questioned why the group was giving Taylor a pass on sending the nude picture. Taylor presented herself as a wholesome, God-fearing, Southern Belle and Madison needed to point out the hypocrisy of it all.
In the end, there was no real answer. JT rocked the host roll by subduing the conversation. To her credit, Olivia also asked the group to back off. So perhaps the cast will bury the photo issue. But the hurt between Olivia and Taylor is still unresolved.
