There are still a few months left in 2023, but we’ve already got our eyes set on 2024. Lifetime just announced that they’re producing a Dance Moms reunion, and it’s hitting our screens next year. Six West Media are producing, and it sounds like the tea is going to be hot — just the way we like it.
The Dance Moms are back
The official synopsis from Lifetime promised that the reunion will feature “fan favorite dancers and moms from the iconic series reuniting to talk about the good, bad, and everything else in between.”
The Lifetime series originally ran for eight seasons, and not a single second of the show aged well. Between Abby Lee Miller screaming at the kids and their moms fighting with Abby, Dance Moms seemed pretty toxic — even for its brightest young stars.
Earlier this year, Maddie Ziegler revealed in an interview that her mom apologized for putting her through the stress of the show. If that’s the experience of one of the Dance Moms’ biggest success stories, imagine what some of the other kids have to say about their experience.
There’s no word on whether or not Abby will participate in the 2024 Dance Moms reunion. It seems hard to talk about Dance Moms without its main character. But, on the other hand, do we really need to hear from Abby? She has spent the last few years desperately trying to spin up a new version of the show without Lifetime.
Plus, she most recently made headlines for vocalizing her fascination with high school football players. Perhaps everyone’s heard enough from her.
Keep your eyes on Lifetime for more details on the upcoming Dance Moms reunion.
