The Golden Bachelor hometown week has officially commenced, and boy was it interesting! In a Bachelor Nation first, Gerry Turner met the families of his three remaining ladies: Theresa Nist, Faith Martin, and Leslie Fhima. As Gerry pointed out, rather than meeting the women’s parents, he would be meeting their children and grand kids. From wholesome hometown dates to a shocking rose ceremony, here is everything that went down during The Golden Bachelor Episode 6!
Gerry heads to New Jersey to meet Theresa’s family
Gerry’s first stop of the evening is Shrewsbury, New Jersey, to meet Theresa’s family. As a New Jersey native myself, I might be slightly biased in rooting for Theresa. Gerry meets up with Theresa at a local park, where she explains that she has not introduced any man to her family since her husband’s passing.
Gerry has a lot of people to impress, as he will be meeting Theresa’s two sisters, her daughter, and three of her grandsons. Right off the bat, Theresa’s daughter admits that she gets great energy from Gerry and would love to see him with her mom. Yay! Theresa’s sisters also love Gerry, they think that he is genuine and can see how happy he makes Theresa. Gerry also hits it off with the grandsons, who joke about Theresa’s duck lip pose in selfies. Kids are too funny.
During a private chat with Gerry, Theresa’s daughter asks Gerry if he is falling in love with Theresa. Gerry responds that he does not know what that looks like exactly, but hints at his strong feelings toward Theresa. Gerry and Theresa leave on a positive note, it seems Gerry was successful in winning over his first family of the week!
After meeting the family, Theresa takes Gerry to the Seaside Heights boardwalk for a night of fun. On a Ferris wheel ride, Theresa tells Gerry that she is in love with him and they share a kiss. While Gerry does not say the words back to Theresa, he admits in a confessional that he feels the same way! Woo hoo!
Gerry flies across the country for his hometown date with Faith
Faith is up next, and Gerry is ready to meet her family in Benton City, Washington. Faith is a country girl at heart, and even rides her horse to the grocery store apparently. Gerry meets the horses and he and Faith go for a ride, where they share a romantic kiss. Faith confesses to Gerry that she was worried her lifestyle would be a turn off for him, to which he replies that he is completely comfortable with it. Gerry is such a gem!
It is now time for Gerry to meet Faith’s family, including her sister, her friend, her two sons, and her grand kids. Faith admits to her sister that she is “head over heels” for Gerry, while Gerry tells her sons that he is falling in love with her. At the end of the date, Gerry and Faith said they loved each other in front of the entire group. Wow!
Leslie’s hometown is last, but certainly not least!
Finally, Gerry heads to Minneapolis, Minnesota to meet Leslie’s family. Leslie explains that Gerry will be meeting her brother, her three kids, and three of her grand kids as well. Leslie also opens up about losing her father tragically at 16, and explains that her brother took on a fatherly role after that happened.
Leslie’s grand kids immediately hit Gerry with the hard questions, and ask if he loves her. Gerry responds that he thinks so? Leslie’s son says that she and Gerry have “real chemistry”, while her brother admits that he would be happy if she married Gerry.
Following the meeting with the family, Leslie of course tells Gerry that she is in love with him. Gerry says that he could see her being his future wife, and that he loves her as well. Could Leslie possibly be our winner?
And now for the rose ceremony
It is now time for the rose ceremony, and Gerry knows that it will be his toughest one yet. Gerry did not expect to fall in love with more than one person, and the fact that he did makes him feel “confused and terrified”. Theresa, Faith, and Leslie arrive one by one, where they are greeted outside by Jesse Palmer. Faith and Leslie tell Jesse that Gerry told them he loved them, while Theresa hopes Gerry feels the same way as her. Why wouldn’t you tell her Gerry!
Gerry is emotional when he sees the women, and says that he has developed a strong bond and connection with all three of them. Leslie gets the first rose, and we can’t say we didn’t see that one coming! Gerry picks up the second rose only to quickly put it down, and asks for a minute. Gerry is overwhelmed, which of course leaves Theresa and Faith stressing over who will get the final rose. We are then hit with the dreaded to be continued. Ugh!
