Andy Cohen did the world a favor and resolved a long-standing mystery at BravoCon. No, we didn’t find out what was in Kelly Bensimon’s gummy bears on Scary Island, but we did get some closure on a Jill Zarin issue.
On January 13, 2018, the Real Housewives of New York alum lost her beloved Bobby Zarin to cancer. Bobby’s funeral was the site of a filmed moment between Jill and Bethenny Frankel, when they reunited after a bad friendship breakup.
This moment has become the source of much speculation. At first, Jill went after Beth for “using” Bobby’s passing for publicity. Then Jill accused Bravo of throwing cameras up at her late husband’s funeral sans permission.
Once Bethenny decided to take down Bravo and reconcile with Jill, there was … a podcast episode. BOTH of them decided Andy TOLD Bethenny to attend Bobby’s funeral and that’s why cameras were there. Over the weekend, Andy said his piece.
Andy enters the chat
During a Q&A panel, a fan got up and did the work. TikTok user Whitney@Radar captured the magic. He began, “You said on the Season 10 RHONY reunion that Jill invited you guys to film at Bobby’s funeral.” Andy confirms this statement.
“Then on Bethenny’s podcast recently, she said that she had no idea that you guys were coming … We know Jill is one of the thirstiest Housewives, so in the words of Oprah, what is the truth?”
Big Daddy drops the info and clears up ALL of the issues. “The truth is, we were invited. We have emails inviting us and yes, everyone knew we were there,” Andy said. Now here’s the interesting part. “We got a ‘thank you’ from Jill saying ‘Wow you paid such a great tribute to Bobby on the show, that meant so much’,” he added.
Release the emails!
As the fan shouted for Andy to “release the emails!” he noted, “So, you know, we’ve kind of moved on. We have a whole new Real Housewives of New York, so you know…”
Jeff Lewis decided to add to the conversation. “There’s no possible way that cameras would just show up. There’s no possible way, you need releases, you need permission. That did not happen,” he shared.
Now it would be HIGHLY unusual for Bethenny not to hear of this and have a response. It will most likely come from one of her many podcasts. The difference here is, if Beth has texts or emails, no one will have to ask her to prove her case, they will be released probably by close of business today.
