Now that Season 14 of The Real Housewives of New York has ended, it’s time to reflect on the rebooted cast and grade them on the season. It’s especially appropriate since the cast is still in the dark about returning for Season 15.
The season was underwhelming, and it’s been suggested that the cast wasn’t giving their full potential. Indeed, Ubah Hassan took her co-star Jenna Lyons to task about that during the reunion.
And now, another cast member is sharing her thoughts on the unfulfilled potential in the group.
“They’re so funny,” Brynn said of her RHONY castmates
The vivacious Brynn Whitfield “was worried” that the season was a bit static. She told an interviewer that, “I was like, ‘This is boring.’ A couple times, I would leave a scene, we just had lunch, and I would take my mic pack off and I was like, ‘Am I the only person that f*cking came to work today?'”
“We would leave,” Brynn continued, “and then we would all go to dinner afterwards. And they’re all like, yeah, saying saying, making more d*ck jokes than me. Saying hilarious stuff. Like, these girls are funny. When I tell you they’re funny. I think some of them did hold back.”
So the full personalities didn’t come through on camera. Though, it seems that Jessel Taank was delightfully herself the entire time. And Brynn commended her friends on their company, but insisted that they were holding back.
She explained, “They’re so funny. They’re so crazy. They’re saying sh*t, cursing more. And I was like, ‘Where was this? Why are me and Erin [Lichy] the only ones that are like giving it?’ And they’re like, ‘Oh no no no. Like, we’re not going to.'”
“Like, people are holding back,” Brynn concluded.
It would be interesting to know if Bravo producers will take her words to heart. Why bring back cast members that weren’t going all in for the show?
