At BravoCon 2023, there were scores of Bravo stars dressed to the nines. There were some truly stunning looks, and it’s clear that many Bravolebrities really know what they’re doing style-wise. But this article isn’t about them. Instead, we’ll be looking at some of the very worst dressed at BravoCon. The following reality TV stars look like they got dressed in the dark, or perhaps they just have far more confidence in their fashion sense than they have any right to.
Tom Sandoval (Vanderpump Rules)
Perhaps one of the most talked about terrible outfits from this past weekend was worn by none other than Vanderpump Rules star Tom Sandoval. The denim skirt, gold belt, and black blazer with no shirt underneath that Sandoval wore was…certainly a choice.
My biggest issue with this look is that it contradicts everything Sandoval has been talking about since Scandoval. On his podcast, in interviews, and on Special Forces, Tom has spoken about wanting redemption and being surprised and dismayed at how much attention Scandoval received. But Tom’s excessive peacocking at BravoCon undermines all that. Sandoval knew that this outfit would provoke angry fans, but he wasn’t worried about it—he was counting on it.
Erin Lichy (RHONY)
Most of Erin Lichy’s outfits at BravoCon 2023 were fairly innocuous. However, her worst offense was this bizarre combination of a button-up shirt and black patent leather…panties? Hot pants? Not sure what you’d want to call these, but it was a weird look. The Real Housewives of New York star certainly stood out, but not in a good way.
But surprisingly, Erin’s was not the worst button up/panty combo at BravoCon this year.
Paige DeSorbo (Summer/Winter House)
That honor goes to Paige DeSorbo. The Summer House star’s look was quite similar, except her button up was silky and her weird panties were pink and bedazzled. Like Erin, Paige turned heads, though it wasn’t due to admiration. Both Erin and Paige’s outfits came across as forced and out of place at the event. The Bravo stars may have wanted to be edgy, but the result was more along the lines of off-putting.
However, Paige’s look was worse than Erin’s. Because Paige’s bottoms were so embellished, they gave off diaper vibes, and that ain’t glam.
Kyle Viljoen (Below Deck Mediterranean)
Another Bravolebrity who swung for the fences and fell short was Kyle Viljoen. His strangely-structured bleach-wash denim jacket look was very extra but not well executed, so it just looked like he was trying too hard. His white pants and shirt weren’t well-fitted, and the pants were wrinkly.
While the Below Deck Mediterranean star’s nighttime look was better and more polished, it still felt like it was missing something. One commenter wrote that Kyle looks like he’s trying too hard to be Sam Smith, and it’s an assessment that feels right on the money.
Lisa Vanderpump (Vanderpump Rules)
Though I’m usually a fan of the posh Lisa Vanderpump’s fashion choices, her BravoCon look was a big miss. The combo of sparkly pinstripe blazer, black pageboy cap, and ornate necklace looked cheap and tacky. If she had swapped out any one of those elements, the outfit might have worked. But all together, it’s a mess.
However, I have to give her props for having the best accessory at BravoCon. I’m speaking, of course, about Donut.
Jason Chambers (Below Deck Down Under)
If there’s one time that a Bravo star can pull out all the stops when it comes to their fashion, it’s at BravoCon. But not all of them take advantage of that opportunity. Though I may come down on stars who try too hard with their style, the opposite can be just as bad.
Captain Jason Chambers seems like a wonderful man, but his BravoCon looks were…underwhelming. The Below Deck Down Under star’s outfits that weekend consisted of a button up with slacks, a sweater with slacks, and a casual, shirt-untucked suit. Pardon me while I yawn. Captain Jason’s outfits were fine, but there was certainly nothing special about them. Maybe next year he’ll dress up more.
Tom Schwartz (Vanderpump Rules)
Most of Tom Schwartz’s BravoCon 2023 looks were as boring as Captain Jason’s. However, the one time he did try to make a splash, it didn’t go well. The Vanderpump Rules star’s embroidered floral jacket was…interesting. Schwartz’s ex-wife, Katie Maloney, said it best when she told him he looked like a couch. Who would have thought Schwartz would show up to BravoCon like a cut-rate Macklemore—except instead of wearing your granddad’s clothes, he’s wearing your grandma’s couch (and he doesn’t look incredible).
Tom Schwartz isn’t exactly known for his fashion sense, so winding up on this list shouldn’t come as a surprise. His slovenly appearance makes a bad outfit even worse, so the least Schwartz could have done is run a comb through his hair before hitting the red carpet, especially if he’s wearing upholstery.
