Dancing with the Stars pro Emma Slater was partnered with Mauricio Umansky. She spoke out about her belief that the judges were underscoring him. The positive feedback from the judges didn’t match up with his scores.
Mauricio is separated from his wife, Kyle Richards. During Season 13 of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, their marital problems are on display.
Kyle attended the Season 32 premiere of DWTS. While Mauricio claimed that she was booked and busy, she may have been avoiding watching Emma and Mauricio’s intimate dance floor moves. The dancing duo have taken their friendship out of the ballroom and into the hand-holding realm. And instead of attending BravoCon 2023 with Kyle, Mauricio hung out with Emma. Meanwhile, Kyle broke down in tears talking about their split.
Were Mauricio and Emma eliminated because of their dirty dancing?
People reported that Kyle discussed Mauricio’s ballroom exit at BravoCon. He was eliminated on Monster Night. His Argentine Tango that night wasn’t bad. “I felt sad because he did an amazing job. … I didn’t think it was fair,” Kyle said. “He’s very competitive.”
An audience member asked if the couple was eliminated because of “the scissoring” during their contemporary dance the week before. A dance that Mauricio sweetly dedicated to his wife. Ick!
Daryn Carp, the panel moderator, said, “It’s fine, everyone gets scissored.” Kyle seemed confused. “Who was scissoring?” she asked.
“I don’t know because I didn’t know about the scissoring. Oopsie daisies, I missed it. But I did vote for them.” Kyle added, “So I don’t know. I don’t know.”
Mauricio previously told People about what a transformative experience DWTS has been. “I’ve been on a great diet, I’ve lost 20 pounds in six weeks. I’m [in] as good physical shape as I’ve ever been,” he said. “Emma has been a great friend, a great coach, a great confidant, and emotionally, it’s just been a great journey as well.”
He also praised how supportive his family was during this experience. “Kyle has been supportive,” he added of his wife. “Despite the fact that she hasn’t been here, she’s had her own stuff going on and what have you, but everybody’s been super supportive.”
As for whether Emma and Mauricio are just friends? We will have to stay tuned to find out.
