Savannah Chrisley is doing the most while her parents are in prison and she might need to back off. The daughter of Todd and Julie Chrisley is going through a lot, obviously, but she may or may not be making things worse for her folks.
The Chrisley Knows Best alums are spending time behind bars after being convicted of fraud in November 2022. Both continue denying any wrongdoing, and their children parrot their sentiments on social media. Savannah, having custody of her minor brother and niece, also has a podcast and spends a great deal of time fighting for her parents’ good name.
Also on Savannah’s to-do list is sharing how her mom and dad are coping. Todd is down in Florida trying to reform the prison system and complaining about MANY things. Now Sassy reveals because she’s speaking out about how bad they have it, people are retaliating against her father. Entertainment Tonight has the details.
Is Savannah making things worse for Todd?
Savannah has a mission, but that mission might have Daddy sent to a basement or another prison across the country. But apparently that won’t stop Savannah. On an episode of her podcast, Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley, she spoke about her mom and dad with ET.
“It’s been really tough [for them] since I started speaking out about everything. That’s been the toughest part. More so for Dad. There’s been a lot of retaliation, so we have to worry [about him],” Savannah shared.
That might prompt me to keep my mouth shut, but Sassy enjoys speaking out. A lot. She concentrates on her parents’ poor living conditions, however it’s not the Four Seasons, it’s jail. That said, just because you’re a criminal doesn’t mean you should live in squalor.
Todd alleges he’s been mistreated and health care is difficult to obtain in the system. Savannah is now saying prison guards have been keeping a special eye on her dad.
Is Todd on the move?
“Right now they’re trying to move him from the facility he’s at now, because of the latest things that I’ve posted on Instagram. And that’s the tough part — the moment you start speaking out, you have to pay for it,” she revealed.
Todd’s attorney also claims he is unable to set up phone calls with his lawyers to communicate his issues. “Which is a huge thing because… it’s a non-recorded phone call to where you can speak about the things that are happening to you to your lawyer, [and] they’re not letting him do that,” Savannah said.
Are the prison guards coming for Todd?
And that’s not all. In an effort to try and keep Todd quiet, Sassy believes the prison guards are going to wipe out Daddy’s commissary account for revenge. “That’s their way of retaliating against these men for speaking out. They’re literally going to starve them to death,” she continued. Wait, don’t they get three meals a day??
According to Savannah, Daddy wants her to keep talking about the rough stuff. ”He and I have had the discussion [and] his exact words were, ‘If I have to be uncomfortable in order to hopefully implement and force change, then I’m willing to do it.’” Wow, Saint Todd. Who knew?
On the bright side, things aren’t so bad for Julie. Probably because she doesn’t make any waves. “[However], her living conditions are terrible,” Savannah noted. “And some of the male guards, they definitely speak down on the women [in jail]. They make them feel like garbage.”
Todd has had his sentence reduced to ten years and Julie’s has been reduced to five. The couple continue to appeal their convictions.
