Potomac has a new Housewife, and she got a cold introduction last week on The Real Housewives of Potomac. Season 8 introduced us to Nneka Ihim. Unfortunately, her introduction to the group got tainted by a certain RHOP pot-stirrer named Ashley Darby.
On the surface, Ashley made it seem like she was excited to introduce two fellow Nigerians, Nneka and Dr. Wendy Osefo. In actuality, Ashley used Nneka to get information about a rumor she heard about Wendy’s family. Ashley said that Wendy’s family allegedly came from a cursed, shunned group of Igbo people called Osu. Ashley later went and told Dr. Wendy everything she and Nneka discussed. It was messy and shady but very on-brand for Ashley.
When the episode aired, fans quickly reacted to Ashley seemingly sabotaging Nneka’s introduction to the group. But, how does Nneka feel about it? The RHOP newbie sat down with Rolling Out and discussed her feelings about her debut episode. Surprisingly, she has a different opinion about how everything went down with Ashley.
Don’t blame Ashley
Of course, Nneka wasn’t totally pleased with Ashley’s behavior on RHOP. Nneka wanted a warm introduction, and instead, she got swept into drama with the only other Nigerian in the cast before fully meeting the group. Nneka said that Ashley definitely “fumbled” with her introduction, but she’s not holding any hard feelings.
She explained, “One thing I do admire about that is that [Ashley] cleaned it up quickly. She started a mess and cleaned up the mess instead of maybe hiding her hands like some people would have done.”
Although Nneka isn’t holding a grudge against Ashley, it sounds like the situation with Wendy is a whole different story. She claimed that Wendy ultimately sabotaged their relationship more than Ashley did.
“I’ll have to let you guys continue to watch to evaluate for yourself,” Nneka teased.
