Olivia Flowers seems understandably underwhelmed with any and all of Taylor Ann Green’s explanations about kissing Austen Kroll. There’s not enough that can be said about remorse, but a certain lack of responsibility as well. And to that, Taylor lied about having that contact in adherence to Austen’s requests.
It’s quite a bit sloppy and Taylor has not had the best look this season on Southern Charm. But during the most recent episode of Season 9, Taylor said one of the most clear and responsible things so far. Perhaps the mountain air at Shep Rose’s family home in Linville, North Carolina was beneficial for her.
Taylor admitted that she “initiated it”
Taylor admitted that she “should have gotten a therapist” after her break up with Shep. That was insightful enough. Perhaps being in JT Thomas’ company is therapeutic as well. Lord knows that boy is smitten with her.
JT then questioned how it was that The Day Chaser brand rep and Austen came to kiss in the first place. That was the moment that Shep’s ex-girlfriend admitted she initiated the kiss.
“I caught him off guard though, that was the thing,” Taylor said. “I initiated it, I take full responsibility for that.”
During a confessional, Taylor further explained that she was expecting there to be more, but that chemistry was lacking.
“There could’ve been a real connection there but there just, there wasn’t,” she added.
It does seem strange then, that the illicit couple would have spoken to their family to get their advice about dating. Given the circumstances of their kiss, it was a risk to take. So if there was a lack of chemistry and there was little to follow up on, then why drag the families into such a quesitonable situation?
Finally, Taylor revealed the motivation for kissing Austen, besides, presumably, desire. She stated that the kiss was meant “to hurt Shep.”
