Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp popped out of her father’s shadow and started a podcast with Tamra Judge. The podcast, Two T’s In a Pod, allowed the ladies to discuss all things Real Housewives.
But Teddi never seemed to leave RHOBH behind. She speculated that her lack of glam caused her firing. It seems far more likely that the fans’ response to Teddi was to blame. Most fans felt that Teddi was incredibly boring. Now Alex Baskin, who is the executive producer of RHOBH and Vanderpump Rules, told Teddi why she was axed.
Why was Teddi Mellencamp fired from RHOBH?
Alex was a guest on Two T’s In a Pod. And Teddi wasted no time in quizzing him about why she lost her diamond.
“Why did I get fired?” Teddi asked. Tamra responded, “Oh, sh*t.” Awkward!
“Oh God. That’s tough,” Alex said. “In yours, I think there was a strong audience reaction to you.”
Teddi agreed with his statement. “So I do think that was part of it,” Alex said. Not gonna deny that. And I also think that you were self-conscious.” Tamra chimed in, “She’s very in her head.”
Alex continued, “The production always had your back … was a big fan of yours because you would say things that other people were thinking and wouldn’t say.” Alex added, “I think it felt like then, on that show, you weren’t comfortable in your own skin.”
Teddi replied, “Yeah.” Alex said, “I think that was the issue.”
But let’s not forget that Teddi contacted producers at the end of her third and final season. “I was mad. I texted, the quote I texted was: ‘I’ve trended on Twitter every single week from hate and you aren’t giving me anything else but the negative. Please, I’m doing the work, I’m showing up. I need you to show my life in some other capacity,'” Teddi said. Ultimately, Teddi was axed a few weeks later.
Now that Teddi has a concrete answer, hopefully, she can let the issue go.
