Tom Sandoval says he “felt terrible” when JoJo Siwa picked him up and threw him over her shoulder on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.
“I felt so bad because it made everybody really scared to not pass challenges after that,” Tom told Us Weekly. “JoJo definitely helped out a little bit. She’s a badass, and she killed it by carrying me.”
Teamwork makes the dream work
The moment with JoJo went viral, and the Vanderpump Rules star also gave a big “shout-out” to former Bachelor Nick Viall, who carried him some of the way.
“He was hurting at one point,” Tom said of Nick, which is why JoJo took over. “I felt really bad for him.”
Tom is most known for his reality show, of course, but he recently put his physical and mental skills to the test for Special Forces, where ex-special forces operatives take a group of celebrities and lead them in rigorous training exercises and grueling tasks based on special forces selection processes.
He appeared on the show months after the world found out that Tom cheated on his girlfriend Ariana Madix with his co-star Rachel Leviss. Considering all the fallout from that bomb, Special Forces must have been a walk in the park.
Focusing on something else
After the Tom-Ariana-Rachel bomb dropped, things were considerably crazy for Tom. Going to New Zealand was actually “so nice” for the controversial reality star.
“It was great just to worry about what you’re doing that day,” Tom admitted. “Sitting in the barracks, we didn’t even know until after the fact. We thought the staff could see us and maybe wait until we were vulnerable. We were constantly on edge.”
He added that he “didn’t have time to worry about other things,” like the aftermath of his cheating scandal. The competition allowed a proverbial weight to be lifted from his shoulders.
