It’s rather presumptuous to be merching off an entity that doesn’t yet exist, despite it being for a worthy cause. Or perhaps it is a sign that Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney are very confident that their long-awaited sandwich shop, Something About Her, will be opening soon.
After a series of bureaucratic is the correct spelling of the word. setbacks, the Vanderpump Rules duo decided to stop promising an opening date. Perhaps the public stopped asking as well. It’s been over six months since the original timeline was presented after all.
But now to offer sellable products to their fans in the name of Something About Her is a reason for questions.
50% of the proceeds are going to a worthy cause
In a recent Instagram post, Ariana and Katie announced their plan to sell Something About Her merch with 50% of the profits going towards an organization dedicating to ending youth homelessness. A worthy cause for sure. But off the inexplicable connection between socks and sandwiches? Curious.
The Vanderpump Rules stars are pictured seated at a booth in their shop. They are wearing button-down shirts and seemingly little else save for a pair of socks and strappy sandals.
Perhaps the lack of dress is to focus on the socks. Or meant as a statement for the tactless comment Tom Sandoval gave at the Season 10 reunion. Either way, fans had a lot to say about in reaction.
“Surprise! We’ve got some new @somethingabouther merch for you, just in time for the holidays,” Katie and Ariana captioned the pictures.
“Selling merch for a store that still doesn’t exist is getting weird now,” one follower wrote.
“Something about her socks… nothing about her sandwiches,” added a second.
Another hilarious comment read, “All socks no sandwiches.”
“Seriously? More merch for a non-existent sandwich shop?” a fourth wrote.
“How are you selling merch for a shop that isn’t even open???” questioned another.
A final added, “Seems so fishy, I love y’all but I don’t get it at all.”
Perhaps fans will get answers in the coming days. Or maybe this move signals an opening on the horizon at last.
